Xhel's horse walked around in a circle, while the elf watched the view. They were on the edge of the forest of Lorien perhaps a kilometer away from it. The elf wasn't surpised they hadn't been attacked at all... the land was flat and the elf could see miles to come. An ambush would of been fruitless. "All right we camp here." Xhel ordered. The time they had made it this far north was remarkable, they had the perfect amount of rest. Not much had happened between the group, they had told stories of their past or at least Chade had. Mostly Chade. The elf had been as secrative as ever, Nimial had acted like a little girl would on the journey. Its not over... the words constantly ran through the elf's head. "I call first watch." Xhel said quickly, he did not like to wake up in his sleep. "We will rest a full day in Lorien, no more no less."

Neurion winced as a bolt of pain ran through is body, lifting up his tunic Neurion ran over the wound where a stray arrow had pierced the armor which lay next to him in a pile. He had ridden for a full day only stopping because he did not want his horse to die of exhaustion. Neurion had cleaned the wound with water from his canteen and had done his best to stitch it up but it still hurt and would for a while. Unbeknown to him there was a small force of elves not far from where Neurion sat, putting his saddle bag behind his head he soon fell asleep.

Kayla was glad to stop. Though riding horseback was much faster, it sure put a toll on your legs. Wincing a bit, she gracefully jumped down from the horse. Her butt hurt. The riding had been monotonous and uneventful. There had been the typical travel talk of short stories and histories; or at least Chade's history. The elf had not disclosed anything of interest; then again, neither had she. Few knew her past, and she liked it that way. The longer they traveled, the closer they got to Rivendell, and the more her worries increased. She was restless and uneasy. "I'll take second shift," she declared. It's not like she slept that much anyways. Her shoulders ached from Sentinel's weight. From fear of spooking the horses, Kayla hadn't let the small dragon fly all day. Her grumpily jumped off her shoulders and scuttled up a nearby tree. Soon he had dissappeared into the undergrowth, probably to find food of some sort. Resting her head on her pack, Kayla lay still and wide awake, looking at the stars through gap in the foliage above her.

Xhel looked around at first it was constantly. But that did not last long. "Hell nothing is going to happen." He told himself, the elf began to relax to make sure he would not fall asleep. His horse lied down at his side, he perhaps found it best to be by the side of his master. Xhel let out a sigh, "Nightshade go away you smell bad." He said while smirking give the horse a small shove, it snorted not taking it as a the playful gesture he hoped it would. "I need a wolf." He noted to himself, it would make a good hunting companion. Elf you might as well kill time check on your wound. Xhel had not forgotten about it, it bothered nearly all of his movements. He rid himself of his armor, it seemed all right. Xhel didn't think it was infected. The gash on his shoulder had nearly dissapered a small scar reminded him of it, and the third wound. To say the least he had forgotten of the third wound.

Sentinel loved the night. Everything was quiet, serene, and there was no blinding light to worry about. In the night, no light caught his scales and alerted his prey to his prescence. Stealthily slipping through the trees, he heard a small rustle below. With his keen night vision, he could make out a small bird roosting below him. He judged the distance, then dropped on the unsuspecting fowl. The last thing the bird saw was a flash of silver. Bird in jaw, Sentinel began to make his way towards a large tree he had seen to eat his meal in peace. Sitting on a thick branch, the small dragon ripped out a mouthful of feathers and spit them aside. Feathers did not taste good. Watching thier drifting movements out of his peripheal vision, he suddenly noticed something he had not seen before. Losing interest in the bird, he peered closer, then his eyes widened in surprise. A man lay on the ground, a pile of thick armor beside him. A horse was slumped nearby, obviously exhausted. Well, this was interesting. 'Kayla,' he thought, 'we're not alone...'
Kayla sat up. She had not slept, only dozed. 'What?' she thought, 'another person? Probably just coincidence; after all, no one has followed us as far as we know. Still, I'd better check this out.' Standing up silently, she grabbed her dirk from her belt. It was always best to be prepared for the worst.

Xhel began to hum a song, the one he had sang in the river. It was hard to get it out of his mind, perhaps to hard. It did was getting to his head a little bit to much. Elf knock out of it! Concentrate. What?! The elf asked now he was angry. Pay attention, be alert look around whose missing. The elf got up, kicking his horse lightly to get it up. "Kayla." He muttered. Dragon do you know in which direction she might of headed in... No you are the hunter after all find out, and I'm not a dragon any more I'm more like your... The elf nodded he was the hunter. "Maybe I did make a mistake in trusting her?" The ef questioned himself.

With stealth borne of practice Kayla navigated the undergrowth, her cloak blending into the surroundings. Her blue-gray eyes were active, never focusing too long on one area, always darting around for any sign of movement. Sentinel directing her, she soon reached the area he spoke of. Crouching low, she peeked cautiously at the strange sight. A male lay there, asleep on his pack. A horse nearby indicated he had been traveling rather hard, due to the fact that the horse was lying down and also asleep. Horses usually stood standing. Armor lay next to the stranger, halfhazardly piled in a heap. A slight furrow divided her brow as she thought. Strange. He had the look of a fighter about him; why would he be so negligent of his armor and horse? She couldn't really see that well to observe any further. For now, though, he was not a threat. He had not attacked them; there was no reason to attacke him. Kayla started silently back towards the makeshift camp, Sentinel behind her. He would watch the stranger.

Two men walked out of the forest. They conversed with each other, in a strong Haradrim accent. The first noticed the man, they both shrugged. "Is this him?" One asked the other, the second had a clueless face. "The elf... He would know. He knows stuff." The first patted the cheeck of Neurion lightly. "Wake up!.."

Xhel began to follow the small trail Kayla had left. The area near their camp was quiet, and peaceful. A peace that some thought would last a long time. But no, it wasn't true. The wind blowing the branches against each other was one of the few sounds the elf could hear. Other then the constant chirping of the crickets. Xhel the whole time was crouched lightly, his hand feeling the dirt, tracking Kayla. He looked up to see the woman walking back to wards him. "Ah I see you've gone on a midnight walk. I dare not ask where you've been, but can I safely assume your bladder was full?" He asked Kayla joking. The elf then put on a serious face. The elf turned around, "Truth be told I came here to join you on this beautiful night." He joked once again. The elf then began to see why the dragon and perhaps the half elf disdained him.

She decided to play along with him a bit. If they were to be traveling together, she could at least try to not completely shun him. "Sorry," she replied quietly with smile that did not quite reach her eyes, "but I'm not interested in you like that." Her face turning serious, she motioned for him to be quiet. "You are rather loud,"she whispered, being careful to not pronouce the hissing sounds of 's'. That was what was heard easiest in a whisper. "There is a man camped not far from here. Sentinel is watching him. He is asleep, he has a horse, and he looks like he has been through a lot. He is not a threat now, but I had to check him out." Just then, Sentinel decided to contact her.
'Kayla,' he thought to her urgently, 'there are other men here. They are waking him up!' He dared not intervene; he had no desire to be killed or captured for the sake of a stranger. For now he observed.
Kayla looked urgently at the elf. "There are men there. I am going back to observe. You'd better go back to camp. After all, you are on watch." Turning, she crept back the way she came, silent in the night.

Xhel turned around. "Oh no I am heart broken." He said quietly falling back onto the floor and then rolling back up, some how he did it completly silent. The elf then nodded his head, and walked away. "Don't attract attention to yourself, not even I accuse everyone as a threat, and some how I'm still alive." The elf walked back to the camp.Do you trust her, elf? Enough to let her go alone. The elf shrugged. Of course not, but if she is a traitor then.. it is best not let her know I am aware of her treason. Xhel returned to the camp, Chade had woken up notcing the two gone. As he returned the human smirked. "Romance under the moonlight?" "Never... She left without warning, had to take a piss. I followed her, but I did not see her in the process." Chade chuckled lightly. "Go back to sleep Chade."

Neuion had been sleeping heavily his muscles were sore from his travel and now of all things he felt something on his cheek. Instinct took over, with speed that suprised even himself he did a backwards roll and stood on his feet his sword was to far away so he picked up a thick branch that was on the ground beside him. The dark made it hard to see the two that stood before him, they could be some of the men that had been chasing him yesterday, not wanting to take anychances he quickly advanced on the closest one. Swinging the branch like a mace he felt it come into contact with the head of the first man, which Neurion could only see the outline of, he heard the other man begin to say something but Neurion did not want to stay around to hear what it was. Swinging the branch again he swing low and took out the mans legs before rolling to the side and swung it again to hear another thud as it connected with the mans head.
Neurion quickly returned to where he had been sleeping, feeling around on the ground he picked up his sword and attached it to his side, his eyes began to adjust to the dark and beside him he could see his armour in a pile, stuffing it into his saddle bag Neurion knew it was to dark for him to ride so he hid it in a near by bush and ran into the forest. A small shape scurried in the other direction at first he thought it looked like a small dragon but why would that be out here at this time of night he thought as he contued to run.

Kayla watched the whole thing with wide eyes. Her initial observation had been correct; this man was a trained warrior. He certainly took care of the two men who had woken him up. She guessed they were probably not out for his best intentions. Noting where he had stashed the bag, she crept around, cautious of the men on the ground. Her eyes, keen from the elf side in her, could see relatively well in the darkness. Night was never truly dark, after all. There was always some light to be had. She was soon under the tree where Sentinel had been, watching. He joined her, liquidly climbing down and following her. 'Go back to camp,' she thought to him, 'I will join you shortly.' Finally, she reached the area where he had thrown the pack. Locating it, she hoisted it over her shoulder. He would come back eventually; until then she doubted he wanted the two men searching his stuff. With a flash of her dirk, she cut the reins holding his horse to the tree and gave it a hefty slap on its backside. With a short, startled neigh, the horse ran off in the rough direction of his owner. Then she made her way back to camp, careful to not make a sound or leave a trail. It would be interesting to see what the pack contained and also what would become of the man.

Neurion's eyes scanned the forest around him, why were those men still after him? If they were the orginal men that had been following him from Rohan, yet now that Neurion thought back those men he had just knocked out had not sounded as if they were from Rohan. Better to be safe than sorry he thought as he carried on running this time changing direction and slowed to a walking pace, trying to stay as silentas possible, his right hand moved to his sword hilt as he watched his footing.
A small crunch from a foot standing on a leaf sounded in front of him. Neurion crouched low, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword. In front of him walked a women who was obviously trying to stay quiet as she made her way through the forest, the pack over her shoulder caught his attention, it was his saddle bag! As if in answer his armour made a clunking noise from within the bag. Confused Neurion slowed down his breathing and let her get some distance from him before following. What was going on?Why did she have his pack? Were those men who had woken him with her?

Kayla treaded silently as she could in the dark, placing her feet carefully. Every time she stepped on a leaf or a twig, she froze and listened, waiting for any signs of attackers. She heard no one. After a short time that seemed longer because of her extreme caution, she knew she must be nearing camp. As that thought entered her mind, another did as well. This thought was one of caution. A strange tingle crept up and down her spine. She was being watched. Whoever was following her was doing so rather well, stopping when she stopped, moving when she did. So she stopped again, straining her ears for any signs of pursuers. For a few endless seconds, the night forest was quiet aside from the rustle of the wind and the chirp of crickets. She thought she heard a breath, but it could have been her imagination. No matter. If someone was following, it would be best to not bring them to camp. Moving again, she gradually changed direction until she was traveling about parallel with where she needed to go. She would figure out who was following her.
