"I had to go back to Rohan. There was trouble between the rulling lords and he needed some there he could trust to watch over his land. But if we had met back then, we might have never goten to the posisions we hold now." said Ellroher. "But I'm not so sure now that I would have mind giving them up to be with you." He held her close to him as he kissed her, not wanting to ever let her go. But finaly, and very reluctiently, Ellroher pulled away and stared into Alatariel's eyes. "I love you." He said as he looked backed over the city. The sun had compleatly set and the stars were begining to come out. Down below in the streets, the elfs were dancing and singing. Ellroher smiled, knowing that none of them below were as happy as he was. He turned back to Alatariel and asked, "What should we do now? Go below and join the party? Or turn in sence we've been on the move sence early this morning?"

"You are probably right. Our lives would have been very different, but I like the way they have turned out and I would not change it for anything." Alatariel smirked to herself and gave his pointed ear a single rub with the tip of her finger as she kissed him. When they had pulled apart, she looked back into Ellroher's eyes and said, "I love you too." Alatariel looked down at the ground below and watched the Elves and smiled. It had been awhile since she had last joined in at a party. "I am not tired yet, I think we should go join them for awhile, if that is alright with you."

Ellroher smiled, he wasn't tired yet eather. "Then perhaps we should join in the celebration." He held out his arm to Alatariel and escorted her down to the streets. When they arived, there were several bon fires burning with elfs dancing around them. Some elves played flutes and violens, wile others played a veriety of horns. The elfs that were not dancing around the fire were drinking, laughing, and just having a good time. Ellroher smiled, it had been quite a while sence he had joined in an elven celibration. He saw Hadi laughing with some other elves Ellroher had grown up with. His daughter walked over and tugged at her father's leg. Setting his drink down and picked up his daugher. He spun her around and around which made her squeal with delight. Ellroher smiled at Alatariel. Ellroher couldn't think of a time when he was happyer to be home.

Alatariel looked up at Ellroher and caught the smile on his face. "You seem quite happy. It must be nice to be home after a long and being back with ones you have grown up with." Her eyes scanned the celebrating crowd for awhile watching the Elves. She smiled. It brought her joy seeing happiness among them. Alatariel walked onto the dance floor and starting dancing and twirling around. She smiled to herself as she danced. She had not done so in long time.

Ellroher watched as Alatariel danced and twirled around the dance floor. He smiled to himself. She danced beautifully. He felt someone nudge him in the back and turned to find his sister smiling at him. "Your such a baby Ellroher. Go and dance with your Fiancee." Ellroher laughed. "I wouldn't want to make her look bad." He objected. His sister rolled her eyes and smiled evily. "Thats not true. Mother taught us how to dance, remember? And you loved it. You just didn't want the others to know because they'd make fun of you." Ellroher sighed, she never missed anything. Glancing out at Alatariel and then back at his smiling sister, Ellroher finaly gave in. "You planed this somehow. I just know it." He started to walk onto the dance floor but stoped. He turned around, took off his back-plate and handed it to Elemmire. "Don't lose them." He warned and then walked back onto the dance floor. He came up behind Alatariel and taped her on the shoulder. Ellroher bowed low and said, "Hello my lady. I've seen you watching me from that tree overlooking the barrics. I would be honored if I could dance with the lady who has given me confidence to keep fighting."

Alatariel smiled as she continued to dance. She may not have always agreed, but many of the Elves had always thought that their queen was the best dancer in Rivendell. A shy little elf boy wandered out onto the dance floor and looked at she-elf and hoped he could dance with her. As if reading the child’s thoughts, Alatariel took his small hand and began to twirl him. She smiled as the child laughed happily. After only a few long moments of dancing, the child ran back into the crowd smiling. It made Alatariel happier knowing that she had brightened the child's day. She went back to dancing when she had felt someone tapping on her shoulder. She turned and came face to face with Ellroher. Alatariel smiled and said, "Well, I feel honored that I had given you the confidence to fight my lord, and I would honored to dance with you." She leaned over and whispered into his ear, "You need not worry. You will not make me look bad." She smiled and took his hand and they began to dance.

Ellroher smiled and ganed some confidence when Alatariel whispered in his ear. She took his hand and began to dance around. The steps came back quickly to Ellroher and he became more and more confident. He spun Alatariel around and diped her back. He smiled brightly as they contiueded to dance. Although he would never admit it, Ellroher injoyed danceing. And Alatariel was a marvolous dancer. The other elves steped back and watched with interest as they continued to dance around and around. The song ended and another one began. This one had a faster beat to it. Ellroher reconized it as one of his favorits from long ago and took Alatariel's hand. "I'll lead this one." He said with a smile.

Alatariel smiled now sensing that Ellroher had more confidence in himself. She wondered why he would think that he would make her look bad. She thought that maybe it was because he was more of a warrior then a dancer. She was nearly caught off guard when he suddenly spun her around then dipped her. She laughed softly and smiled glad to that Ellroher was now enjoying himself. When the song had ended and new one started, she became alittle nervous. It had a faster beat and she never really mastered dance steps to songs with a fast beat. She held to Ellroher's hand and whispered, "I do not dance well to fast beats."

Ellroher smiled broadly and held her tightly. "And I don't dance well at all. I just wing it." He twiled Alatariel around and said, "What I love about this song is that the foot work is very simaler to a that in fighting. You just circle and twirl around. Nothing a skilled swordsman couldn't do." He winked at the last comment as he spun her again. Ellroher realsed his grip on her and spun himself around counter to the way Alatariel was spining. They both made a compleat rotation at the same time, give Ellroher a chance to take hold of her again. The couple spun together wile making a small circle. Ellroher and Alatariel repeated this simple step untill the music stoped. The crowld apploded the musicions and the dancers. Ellroher and Alatariel stagered off the dance floor and ploped into a chair. "You see, That wasn't so bad. And when the dance floor stops spinging, We can go again." He said smiling at her wile his head bobed back and forth.

Alatariel smiled. "How typical of you. I suppose anything that is similar to fighting, it is quite easy for you." She tried he best to follow the few steps the dance had but she easily made errors not being to use to dancing to such a fast beat. All the fast spinning was not something she was use to either. She became a little dizzy quite fast but she tried to hide it. She was sure she would most likely need to learn this dance knowing she may end up dancing it again. When the music had stopped, Alatariel had nearly fallen over but was able to hold her balance until she was able to reach a chair. She laughed. "Oh no, we are not doing that again," she said shaking her head and nearly fell out of the chair.

Ellroher laughed and agreed. "Yea, one dance like that is enough for me too." He wiped sweat off his frohead and sighed. It had been a very long time sence he had danced like that. Turning to Alatariel he asked, "Are you ready to call it a night?" Normaly, Ellroher would have been one of the last ones to leave a good party, But he was still feeling tired from their long journy here. After all of their close incounters with orcs and wargs, and days of hard riding, Ellroher was surprised that he had the strenght to dance that last song. The band slowed to a peaceful, easy tune. Ellroher smiled and offered his hand to Alatariel. "One last dance my lady?"

When her dizziness left her, Alatariel rose from her chair and spun around once. She could see in Ellroher's eyes that he was growing tired. They had not taken the time to really rest when they had arrived. She nodded her head in agreement. "I think it is best we do call it a night." She too, had grown alittle tired herself. She smiled as Ellroher offered her his hand for one final dance. "Of course," she replied taking his hand and they began to dance once again.

Ellroher smiled as he took Alatariel's hand left hand in his right and wraped his left around her waised. Then slowly began to step back and forth to the music. Everything seemed to disapear, save for Alatariel's beautefull smile. The croweds of elves danceing around them seemed to dissove into shadows and the light from the bon fire dimmed in the light that shone from Alatariel's face. Ellroher held her close to him as they contiuned to dance. He leaned down and kissed her. "I love you Alatariel." Ellroher wanted to go on and say how beaurtifull she looked, and how happy she made him, and.... But Ellroher couldn't think find the words to describe her. Instead, he found his lips were once again locked with hers and no words could ever describe that. The music ended and Ellroher led Alatariel off the dance floor. "Well," he asked quietly, "Shall we reatire for the night?"

Alatariel smiled in return as the two danced. She stared into Ellroher's eyes for a long moment before she turned her head from side to side noticing the elves leaving the dance floor. The night had grown quite late and many were retiring for the night. It left more room for her and Ellroher to dance. She wanted to say something to him but she could not find the words, she only smiled. As he pulled her closer to him, a faint blush creeped up on her. He was taller then her by several inches and she could easily tuck her head right under his chin. She stayed like that until he bent down and kissed her. She kissed him back and replied," I love you too." She stared into his eyes once again and couldn't believe how handsome he was. He nearly caught her off guard when he suddenly kissed her a second time. When the music ended, they were the last two elves remaining out on the dance floor. "Aye, I think we should," she answered. "I am a bit tired."

Ellroher took her arm and led her through the streets to her room. The stars were shining so brightly overhead that they needed no candal to find their way. Ellroher smiled. Rivendell hadn't changed at all. It was still as beautefull as ever. He chuckled as he remebered himself once saying that Rivendell was the most beautefull think he had ever seen. He had been very young and nieve then. And, he glanced at Alatariel, he hadn't met her then. Ellroher opened the door of Alatariel's room and led her inside. "Well, Good night my lady." He said with a bow. "I'll see you in the morning." Ellroher kissed her forhead and then turned to leave. But before he left, he gave her a wink and added, "We're not married yet, so I'll just sleep next door. Sweet dreams my love."
