"Tears, sad water" said Morwen quitely, adding a rough traslation in her sketchy knowledge of Dracon. "Sleep picture sad"

Dariah looked from the glistening drop to Morwen with interest. Morwen obviously had a basic grasp of dragontongue. Sad water? From sleep pictures? Dariah had many sleep pictures in her egg, but none were sad. Did dragons cry? She would have to ask the two dragons she now considered her brothers. Just then, Sentinel flew in, a fat bird in his jaws. He was a bit surprised to see Dariah out of the fire, but even more intruiged as to why both she and Morwen were staring at Kayla. Dropping the bird, he walked over to the small red dragon, trying to figure out what she was looking at. A single wet drop on the stone floor gave him a clue. Kayla had another dream, it looked like. Nudging her shoulder gently with his head, he woke her up.
Kayla sat up with a start, her hair tousled around her shoulders, her eyes still a bit foggy. She saw the two smaller dragons looking at her curiously, and Morwen also watching her. "What happened?" she asked, running a hand back through her hair.

Morwen had hated it when one of her men had seen her cry, and she guessed Kalya might be the same. "There's a wasp flying round your hea..no, its gone now" she improvised quickly "Is that for Dariah? Good Idia Sentinal" she said to turn attention away from Kayla.

"Hmm," said Kayla, "wasps? I'm guessing they have a nest somewhere in this cave. We'll have to avoid that." Standing up, she stretched her back a little bit.
Sentinel caught on and nodded, affirming her story. Here, Dariah, I got you some more food, he growled to the baby dragon.
Still gazing curiously at the almost dissappeared spot on the floor, Dariah replied, Thank you. I was getting a little hungry. Ripping out a mouthful of downy feathers, Dariah sat half into the fire. Do dragons cry? she asked curiously.

Morwen nodded, "I think the smoke will drive them away, that was probebly just the last one" she said, hopeing Kayla wouldn't pry to far into the matter.

Dariah grinned, showing her ivory teeth, hissing out a dragonish laugh. Methinks Sentinel would be none too happy with us were we to do that. she replied, eating the tender breast meat of the fowl.
Kayla nodded. "More than likely it was," she assented. Walking to the edge of the cave, she looked out over the thick forest in the valley below. The air here was clean, crisp, and easy to breathe. Her ears were filled with the chirps of birds, rustling of the winds, and steady trickling roar of the waterfall cascading into the lake below. "I think, now that Dariah is hatched, we should go about finding a way for us to get down to the valley," she mused.

"Huh, that might just be an idia?" she agreed nodding her head over something she'd given no thought to.

Looking down the rock face, she couldn't see any obvious paths down. Oh well. Turning, she said, "That will come later, I suppose. But for now I intend to explore any caves that I can fit into. I would like to know how extensive this cave system is, and we two cannot stay in this main cave. It would be nice to have a room of sorts to ourselves." Kayla enjoyed privacy - if she didn't have a room of her own she might go crazy.
Dariah, finishing the bird, yawned, showing her forked crimson tongue. Curling into a small ball sleepily, she dozed in the coals, warmed pleasantly by the flickering flames. She wanted to explore as well, but for now she was too tired. Hatching was a lot of work.

"Good idia, though i think i might try and find a room near Bamini's. Hey" she whistled a high note and the dragons head snapped round "Show me where your lodgeings are and i'l put your bedding there" The dragon assented to that easily eoungh and set off through the cave system.

Kayla looked down at Sentinel, saying, "Knowing you, your cave is probably accessed by an entrance much too small for me."
Sentinel nodded, thinking, 'Indeed it is. But I will show you the entrance and also a cave that I found that you might like. And with that he walked off into a nearby hole, looking behind to make sure she was following.
She followed the silver form through the cave system, marking the way with small scratches from her dirk. It would not do to get lost in the caves her first time exploring. Eventually they came to a small hole, about five feet in diameter, about two feet up from the floor. Sentinel slid inside, marking this as his room. Walking a bit further, Kayla found another cave, a nice spacious one, and claimed this as her own. This would work out quite nicely.

Morwen walked back into the main cave, not haveing found any cavern to her likeing. The flickering glow of the fire danced over the bare walls, and suddenly she saw a large crevice in a shadowy courner. Sticking a brach into the blaze she steped through and continued down a winding but even passage. After a minit or so she came into a medium sized sandy cave, with a small crack in the ceiling showing daylight.
She smiled and stuck the branch into the floor, the smoke drifting up through the crack. She left but returned a few minits later with her bag, from whitch she took out a straw mat; whitch she rolled over the floor, a large black cusion that she would sleep upon; on this she placed a three tawny gold cusions of smaller size, and finally hung a banner of a Kine of Araw from a protrudeing rock. She smiled and pushed her bag into a courner. Blowing out the torch, she made her way by touch back to the main chamber, thankgod this tunnle didn't have any openings.
A few miunts later she came to Bamini's chamber, where she found him curled up on a huge purple bed in the middle of the chamber, an identicle hanging hung from a jutting stone, and beneath it on another was the small bronze figure of the God. "See you've settled in well" she smiled to him. "Aye its not like the Temple though "Is that good or bad?" "Both, smoke came from that hole over there though" he compleained She stuck her head through the hole, that low on his wall, and he head appered next to the still faintly glowing tourch she had left. "Thats my chamber my dear, don't worry" she laughed.

Kayla was glad the cave she found was not too wet; it was quite dry, in fact, and only a few rocks were scattered about on a thick bed of sand. Going back to the main cave, she took her pack and made sure Dariah was still sleeping. Assured that she was, Kayla went to the room again. Pulling out a blanket, she spread it on the floor. Gazing at the sweeping dome of the ceiling, she reflected that these were much nicer accomodations than she had most of the time. She would eventually carve some seats and shelves in the walls, but for now it would do just grandly. Digging in a side pouch of her pack, she pulled out a small handful of shimmering trinkets. Sentinel's treasure trove. "Sentinel, here's your stuff," she said, placing them in a small pile at the entrance to his cave. He came out, silver eyes glinting happily as they rested on his collection.
It was not much; a necklace composed of plain gold links, a silver ring set with a sapphire, a few uncut gems he had found, and lastly a large golden ring set with a deep red stone. Sentinel carefully transported all of these to his cave, all but the last. The last he nudged towards Kayla. "It was his. You should have it, he said. She picked it up, holding it in her palm for a few moments. "Thank you, Sentinel," she whispered. Then she placed it in her room under her pack that was now her pillow.

On the directions of Bamini Morwen found her way to Kayla's cave bearing with her a pile of cusions and other luxatry's. "Here, my pages were obviousely over zealouse in thier packing. Neither bamini nor I need them, and i wandered if you or Sential would?" she asked respectfully, chooseing not to ask about whatever she'd been putting under her pillow.

Kayla looked up a bit suddenly at the appearance of Morwen, standing hastily. Wait, why was she acting like she was guilty of something? Relaxing, she could see that Morwen was trying to be friendly, and she accepted. "I would be honored to accept, though you can ask Sentinel yourself what he would prefer," she said smoothly.
Sentinel appeared from arranging his small trove, his head poking out of the hole off the ground. He nodded his head once, then said, I, too, would be happy to accept. But I only need one or two cushions; Kayla may have the rest

Morwen handed him two large ones and gave the rest to Kayla. she'd govened people for years, and knew when they were hideing something, but refrained from saying anything. She turned back to Sentinal and took a small gold earstud inset with a saphire from her pocket. She bent down and placed it in between his claws. "For Kayla i brought Dariah, for you i give this. I know that Kayla would not have let us come if you had not agreed. Thankyou."
