"Oh," said Ellroher as he looked at the ground. He wasn't sure why he had asked. He was kind of hopeing that she was married to some great warrier who might be able to teach him some moves. Turning his attention back to the targets Alatariel had just shot at he said, "I'll get the arrows for you." He stoped beside Alatariel's bow lieing on the ground and looked up and down the range. Capatain Hadi and his father had told him that it is very important to check to make sure no one else is shooting before you retreave your arrows. Seeing no one, Ellroher hurried down to the targets and pulled the arrows out.
As Ellroher carried the arrows back, Captain Hadi walked up and nodded to Alatariel. "Lady Alatariel, little Ellroher seems to have taken quite a liking to you. I've been watching, he mimiced your movements as you were shooting almost perfictly." He turned as Ellroher came up and said, "Ellroher, I found something that might intereset you." He held out a small bow and four small arrows that went with it. "I knew I had this bow somewhere but just now found it. I don't have time right now to show you how to use it, but if Lady Alatariel doesn't mind, she can show you." Ellroher took the bow from Hadi with extreame care. He rubed his little hand along the smoth wood and then looked up and Hadi. "Thank you Captain Hadi!" He wraped his arms around Hadi's leg in a hug and then looked at Alatariel, almost pleading, "Lady Alatariel. Will you please show me how to shoot? Please? Please? Please?"

Alatáriël shot her last arrow then looked at Ellroher. She almost laughed when he looked at the ground as if though he looked displeased. "Why the long face, young one?" she asked and grinned. "You look like you are disappointed or something." Alatáriël put down her bow and was about to head over to the target to retrieve her arrows when Ellroher offered to get them himself. "As you wish," she said before he ran off towards the target.
Lady Alatariel, little Ellroher seems to have taken quite a liking to you. I've been watching, he mimiced your movements as you were shooting almost perfectly. Alatáriël smiled and shook her head. "So I have noticed," she said. "Lady Arwen has already told me that once." She watched as Ellroher pulled the arrows our of the target. "She also said that she does not understand how he is so eager to listen and learn when in my presence and when I am the one being the tutor. I have come to thought that it's probably just a childhood infatuation or something like that."
Alatáriël laughed as Ellroher wrapped his arms around Hadi's leg, hugging it, all excited to have a bow and some arrows of his very own. He then looked at her pleading to teach him how to shoot. She giggled at his plea. "Oh little Ellroher," she said and released his arms from Hadi's leg and turned him to face her. "You do realize that this is my training time, right?" She smiled.
(I've finally finished editing Alatáriël's profile and history. Over and over again, I kept edting and changing it.)

(Wow. I'm speechless. That is unbelievably good. Wow. That is a profile history. Wow) Ellroher releaced Hadi's leg and faced Alatariel. "But you don't need to practice!" He argured. "Your already the best! You hit the target every time! I've never goten to shot before. Please Lady Alatariel. Please teach me how to shoot." Ellroher was almost to the point of tears, but he refused to cry, especialy in front of Captain Hadi and Lady Alatariel. He had longed for the day when he could shoot a bow or swing a sword. At last the day had come. But he needed an adult to help him. He wouldn't be allowed to shoot by himself. "Please, Lady Alatariel. Will you please teach me how to shoot?"

(Really? Thanks ;D I worked hard on it, I’m glad you like it Alatáriël laughed. Although she was flattered by Ellroher's words, they were untruthful. "As much as you may think so, Ellroher, I am anything but the best," said Alatáriël. "I much prefer to be looked at as very good, but even those are very good archers still need to practice sometimes." Alatáriël could see that Ellroher was very eager learn and really wanted to shoot. He was trying to fight off the tears of disappointment. She finally gave in and smiled. "Alright," Alatáriël said, removing her quiver, then picked up her own bow and arrows and set them off to the side. "I shall teach you how to shoot, young one."

Ellroher looked up at Alatariel and a light shined in his eyes. "You will? YA!!!!" Ellroher jumped up into the air and shouted. He wraped his arms around Alatariel's leg, nearly knocking her down. "Thank you lady Alatariel! Thank you!" He finaly realeased her and examined his small bow. It was a made from a single piece of wood, probably yew. Although it was unadorn, Ellroher thought that it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Ellroher knew a thing or two about bows and shooting from what he had watched and observed from others. He realized that he would need to wear a glove because the bow and no arrow slot.
Looking at Alatariel, Ellroher knowtest that she also wore a forearm guard. That was another thing he needed. Luckaly, Hadi had brought both of these for him to use. Having never wore one before, Ellroher held it up to Alatariel and asked, "Will you help me put this on?"

You will? YA!!!! Thank you lady Alatariel! Thank you! Alatáriël smiled at the excited elfling as he jumped into the air happily and wrapped his arms around her leg, nearly throwing her off guard. She almost lost her balance but she regained it back quickly. "Yes, young one, I will," she said. Alatáriël noticed others on the training grounds, looking her way, because of Ellroher's behavior. Children sometimes can become overexcited, but by elven standard, Ellroher's action of excitement was a little beyond it. "Now settle down, Ellroher, you do not want to become too excited, you will be too riled up and it will effect the way you shoot."
Will you help me put this on? "Of course," Alatáriël said smiling. She loosened the strings to her own arm guard until it was loose enough to slip off and then she set off to the side with the rest of her gear, knowing that she will be needing it no longer. Alatáriël turned back to Ellroher and took his arm guard and told him to hold out his arm. She then slipped it over his hand and onto his forearm and tightened the strings so that it fit snuggly. "That is not too tight for you, is it?" she asked.

"That is not too tight for you, is it?" Ellroher flexed his arm and rolled it. It was snug, very snug. But in needed to be tight so it wouldn't fall off his arm. "No. It's not too tight." Ellroher picked up his little bow and an arrow. He had seen other shoot thousands of times and had pretended to shoot millions of times. But now that it was his turn to really shoot, Ellroher found that he was not entirely sure how to put it all together. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself down. He raised the bow and pulled the arrow back, but did not fit the arrow to the string. He wanted to get his stance right first before he shot.
Imitating the stance that Alatariel had used, Ellroher kept his arm left arm straight and pulled the string back to his eye with his right hand. "Is this right?" He asked with a little strain. Trying to hold the string back and talk was a little harder that he had imagined.

Alatáriël was impressed. Ellroher sure had spent much time watching others shoot, studied their movements and their stance. She was not surprised that he a bit a trouble trying to get his own stance right. Everything was always easier than it appeared to be and little Ellroher was finding that out. His voice sounding a little strain, as he tried to speak while trying to hold the string back at the same time. He would get use to that after a while.
Alatáriël then kneeled down to his height, looking ahead towards the target. Not only was the way he held the bow and his tance was right, he was lined up right with target. She smiled. "Aye, you have it right," she said. "Now, do not expect to hit the target on the first try, I do not want you to be disappointed if you miss. I even missed on my first try. Right now, I just want you to forcus on nothing but the target, clear your mind of any distractions, they can hinder your performance." Alatáriël then rose and took a few steps back, giving the young elf space. "Go ahead, Ellroher, let the arrow fly," she said.

Ellroher was incuraged by Alatariel's words and took careful aim. He wanted to impress her and hit a dead bulls-eye, but he did as she instructed and pushed the thought from his mind. He fited the arrow to the string and lined it up for a shot. His arm quivered slightly, he wasn't used to holding it yet. But he realesed the arrow and watched it as it flew through the air. Ellroher had been aiming for the center of the target. What he hit was one of the legs that was holding the stand. He looked up at Alatariel, then back at the target. "I missed." He said. He was dissapointed, but not really upset. It was after all his very first time shooting. "I wonder what I did wrong?" He said more to himself than Alatariel. After a moment he had the answer. "My arm was shaking." He looked back up at Alatariel and asked, "How do I keep my arm from shaking when I shoot?"

Alatáriël watched Ellroher. She could see that he was trying hard to concentrate. Everyone wanted to hit the target dead center, however, that was impossible on the first try, most do even hit the target, and Alatáriël suspected that was what he was trying to do. However, instead of hitting the target, he hit the leg. I missed. "It is alright, young one," Alatáriël said and kneeled down to Ellroher's level. "You actually did better than I did on my first try. I did not hit the target at all, in fact, my arrow landed on the ground in front of it." My arm was shaking. How do I keep my arm from shaking when I shoot? "You are just not use to holding the bow yet," Alatáriël answered. "Once you learn how to steady it, your arm will not shake. You just need to practice."

Ellroher was encouraged by Alatariel's words. He smiled as he picked up another arrow and tired again. His arm still shook, but not as much. He sent the arrow flying, but it went under the target, missing it by only an inch. He took his last arrow and aimed it higher. Much to Ellroher's delight, the arrow struck the target. It hit the very top of the target and looked like a flag hanging from the top of a tower. Ellroher jumped up and shouted. "I hit it! Look Lady Alatariel! I hit it!" Ellroher threw his arms around Alatariel's neck. "Thank you for showing me how to shoot Lady Alatariel. I can't wait to tell my father." Ellroher suddenly stopped his celebrating and looked up in the sky. "Uh-oh." he said. "I was supposed to be home a long time ago. I need to go right now."
Ellroher started off toward home but stopped suddenly and turned around. He had forgotten his bow and arrows! He dashed toward the target to retrieve his arrows but grounded himself to a halt and jumped backwards. He had almost forgotten the most important rule of shooting. Always check before you retrieve your arrows. Ellroher looked up and down the range and made sure that it was clear. Then he ran down and retrieved his arrows. Ellroher stopped one more time to thank Alatariel for shooting with him and then ran off for home.

140 years later
Only days had past, since a band of elven warriors returned to Imladris after the battle against the Witch-king of Angmar, and his armies. Alatáriël's father, was among the many warriors, even herself (although secretly in the beginning) rode out to battle despite going against her father's wishes. But a bad premonition haunted her mind, and felt as it she was left with no choice but to follow.
Her left arm had been wrapped and put into a sling, after she had broken it in two places in the battle. She had not yet gotten use to being only what really felt like having only one arm. Alatáriël was limited to some things. All weaponry training was out of the question. The healer did not even want her near any weapons, knowing that she would probably be stubborn about it. With that, her father thought it best to take his daughter's sword and put it away, even though Alatáriël was known to carry with her wherever she went, but with it on her, her father thought she would be tempted.
Walking out of her parent's dwelling, Alatáriël made her way down to Elrond's home. Today, she back to carrying on with her study and work. Several elves from the realm glanced over at her as she past. Word went around quickly of her deed in battle. Alatáriël glanced back, but kept walking, not wanting anyone to stop her and wish to speak with her over the matter. At least she was able to aviod it, for now. She knew that her cousin would have plently to say.
Passing the city guards, Alatáriël made her way up the steps of the Last Homely House and walked inside. She quickly greeted those she past by in the halls and made it to her study. In the past years, Lord Elrond had her studying the Common Langauge. She knew so little of the language before her study, but only understood a slight bit more than she could speak it. Always had been around Elrond and his sons, whom were fluent in the language, she had picked up a little of it, but not enough to communicate with anyone. Alatáriël knew much of the language now, but still not as fluent as others, but was able to communicate in the language if needed. To help inprove and gain some ability to read the language, Elrond stopped oral study and started her in text study. Often, Alatáriël would speak outloud to herself in Westron, practicing the words and their pronunciation.
Alatáriël gathered the needed materials and placed them on her desk. She was not in the mood for language study this day, so instead she took herself back into the study of lore. Alatáriël moved herself from the desk and over into a more comfortable chair by a window. She opened the book and leaned and began to read.

Ellroher pounded his hammer against the hot metal of the elven armor. Ellroher, now over 160 years old was considered an adult. Over the last century he had taken an extreme interest in the works of the forge, and had learned all he could from the smiths of Rivendell. Although he couldn't quite yet make thinks himself, he did know how to help repair the solder's weapons and armor. Just two days ago the solders of Imladris had returned from the Aronor after the battle against the Witch-king of Angmar. Ellroher had not been allowed to go, but he was allowed to help repair the weapons and armor of the solders.
As Ellroher inspected the gash in the armor he was working on his thoughts went out to his close friend, Alatariel. She had disappeared after the solders had ridden out to aid in the battle. Ellroher suspected that she had ridden with them. He had over heard her say that she had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to her adopted father if he went. Ellroher stuck the armor back in the forge and watched as the metal began to glow.
When the solders had returned, Ellroher learned that Alatariel had indeed ridden out and had broken her arm. Rumors were running that she had done many mighty deeds on the battle field. Ellroher removed the armor and began to beat it again. He wanted to fight and win renown too. But he was still to young to ride to war. He knew that he had to train for years and years before he would be skilled enough to fight, but that didn't stop him from wishing that he could. Ellroher dumped the armor in water and watched the steam rise. He wiped sweat off his forehead. He needed a brake. He had been working almost non stop in the forge since the solders returned. Ellroher hung his apron and put away his tools before washing his face and arms.
Ellroher entered the Last Homely House made himself a lunch. As much as he would have liked to stay and enjoy a nice lunch with his sister, Elemmire, Ellroher need to return to the forge as soon as possible. There was still a lot of work to be done so he packed his lunch in a sack. As he walked through the halls, Ellroher suddenly halted outside of Alatariel's study room. "I wonder if she's in. Probably. Alatariel was never one to sit still for very long and do nothing." He quietly opened the door and poke his head in. "Hello. Is anybody home?" He called.

Alatáriël turned her attention away from the her book and looked when her door opened and saw a head poke it. She smiled when she saw that it was Ellroher. "Something told me that you would come visit me this day," Alatáriël said and gestured for him to come in.
Ellroher was no longer a little elfling, but grown elf. She use to have to kneel down to reach his level, but now he was taller than her. He did look like his father but his features were just slightly different, most likely picked up from his mother.
Over time, he had grown an interest in working with the smiths. Alatáriël wondered why one of Elrond's family would take up on such work, but Ellroher always had loved weapons, even when he was small. The smiths had been been hard at work, repairing weapons and armor from the recent battle and it was clear that Ellroher was hard at work himself.
Having known her his entire life, Alatáriël was sure that Ellroher would notice right a away a couple of key differences, one, she carried her sword wherever she went, but had it not today, two, she had cut her hair a lot shorter to try and hide her identity when she secretly rode off to war. It had been long, quite long actually. Her hair had a length that nearly past her hips but now just not even near half way down her back. It met the hair length of most of male elves in the realm, which was the reason for cutting it in the first place.
"Come sit with me, Ellroher" Alatáriël said, pointing to the chair next to her and set her book aside. "And what do I honor this visit today?" she asked and smiled.

Ellroher smiled as he entered the room and sat down. "I've been working with the smiths to repair all the weapons and armor that were damaged or broken during the battle." As he said that, his eyes lit up a little. Though he had yet to be in one, Ellroher loved battles and also loved hearing about them. It was very obvious that Alatariel had gone with the solders and fought and Ellroher was just dying to hear all about it. "We have been working almost non stop since you returned. Grandfather wants us to be ready in case something happens. He won't tell me what's going on," Again his eyes lit up. "But maybe you can tell me what happened and what's going on."
Ellroher then noted that Alatariel had cut her hair. It was far shorter than it had, which made Ellroher sad. He had always liked her long hair. He also noted that her sword was missing. Alatariel always carried it. "Your sword is repaired by the way." said Ellroher. "I personally helped the head smith repair it. I was going to bring it to you myself, but your father came and took it away before I could return it to you." Suddenly remembering that it was lunchtime, Ellroher held up his sack of food and said. "Alatariel, would you like to join me for lunch? I've got a bit of time and I'm really anxious to here about your part in the fighting."
