Elrohir paced back and forth in the hallway, trying not ignore his brother's smile. "I have never seen you this antsy before." Ellandan said as he leaned back in his chair with his hands behind his head. "Unless it was that time when father sent us to our room to await punishment after we poured honey in Arwen's hair. It was so stickily that she had to cut almost all of it off." Elrohir had to smile at that. "Yea, he made us wait for three hours before he finally came up. He must have known that we would have thought up of 1000's of punishments. That waiting was worse than taking away our swords for a week." Ellandan smiled. "Exactly. So settle down. You can't do anything. Mirgil will be fine. Mom and Arwen are with her. She'll be just fine." Ellandan couldn't resist adding, "Unless Arwen is still mad at you for pouring honey in her hair." Elrohir picked up a apple and through it at his brother. "Shut up!" He yelled. But he laughed as he did so. Ellandan was always there to take the edge off of things. But still he could help but worry. What if.....
"Elrohir." Elrohir turned toward the door as Arwen walked out with a bundle cloths cradled in her arms. She smiled at him and said, "Come say hello to your son." Elrohir very gently and very carefully took the bundle and looked at it. Ellandan stood up and looked over his shoulder. "Hey! How about that! I figured that he would be ugly like you. But he's got his uncle's strong chin." Ellandan said as he reached down and rubbed the baby's chin with his finger. Elrohir was speechless. He just stared at the child in his arms. Arwen touched his arm and said, "Your daughter is inside with her mother. If you'd like to see her." Elrohir and Ellandan did a double take and exclaimed together. "Daughter!? You mean, Twins?!" Arwen just smiled and walked back inside.
Elrohir entered the room, still caring his son. Inside was his mother and father. And laying propped up on the bed was his wife, Mirgil. She smiled at Elrohir and said, "You should just be thankful that he was born first. Arwen wanted to take little Elemmire out to you first and make you think that you didn't have a son." Ellandan laughed out loud. "Yea, she reMembers the honey." Arwen smiled, "No, that was for ruining my favorite dress when we went horse riding. You promised me that the horse was tame as could be. He wasn't. And reMember what happened? He through me in a mud hole. You two couldn't even stop laughing long enough to help he up and ketch the horse." Everyone laughed. Elrohir sat down on the edge of the bed by his wife and leaned in to have a look at his daughter. She was the most beautifully thing his had ever seen.
Ellandan placed a hand on his brother's arm and said, "I know this probably isn't the best time to bring this up. But you own be 500 gold coins." Elrohir looked at his brother. "What are you talking about? I said that it would be a boy! You said that it would be a girl. So you're the one who has to pay up." Mirgil rolled her eyes. Her husband and brother in law would argue about this all night. And she had other plans. "You two stop arguing around the babies." She commanded, silencing both of them. "I would like a little time alone with my husband and children." Taking the hint, Ellandan got up and left, followed by the rest of the family. When they were Finlay alone, Elrohir leaned down and kissed his wife. "I love you." he said. "I know." replied Mirgil as she cradled her two children in her arms. "Ellroher and Elemmire." She whispered. Elrohir smiled as he gently stroked his son's cheek. "Ellroher and Elemmire." He repeated.

It wasn't until the next morning that a messenger stopped by Alatáriël's home bringing word that her presence was requested at The Last Homely House. News had spread quickly through the realm that Elrohir, son of Elrond was now the father of twins. She knew that she would be summoned rather quickly. She had known Elladan and Elrohir their entire lives and were long time friends with them.
Alatáriël quickly walked down the path that lead to Elrond's home. She was excited to see the twins, as were every elf in Imladris of course. Arwen had been the last born of their kin and no elf child had been born since. Such news was joy to the Elven realms. Although the Elves were starting to become a fading race, some were still marrying and bearing children which is now rare. She wondered how Elrohir was taking to it all. For no reason at all, she laughed softly. Alatáriël had arrived and walked up the steps to The Last Homely House and walked inside and stood in the main corridor. She wasn't surprised to see some elves standing outside. "Anyone home?" she called out.
(not very good but it should go into a little more detail once she interacts with Elladan and Elrohir)

Elladan poked his head out a door and looked around. Spying Alatariel he called out. "Alatariel, here to see the new additions to the house of Elrond? In here." He ducked back inside the room and motioned her to follow. Mirgil sat in a rocking chair holding her daughter and singing softly to her. Elrohir was kneeling beside her, smiling as his daughter wraped her little fingers around his his. Standing off the side, Lord Elrond was holding the other child. Elladan anonced Alatariel's arivel. "Another visitor come to see the third generation of twins in the Elrond line." Mirgil and Elrohir both looked up and smiled. "Must you anonce that every time somebody comes?" Migil asked. Elrohir stood and laughed. "Elladan just can't help it. He's jelious that it's not him that is getting all the attention. Alatariel, I'm glad that you came to visit. Care for a closer look?" Elrohir steped aside and motioned Alatariel over. Mirgil stood up and said, "You can hold her if you like. I need to stand up and streach anyway." She held little Elemmire out to her. Elrond steped forward and held little Ellroher near his sister. "Well, Alatariel? Do you see any family resimbalence?"

Alatáriël saw Elladan's head poke at the door the moment she called out. "Aye," she replied. "If your brother and Mirgil would like a visitor of course." Elladan motioning her to follow, Alatáriël took that gesture as a yes and she followed him to the room. She saw Elrohir's wife, sitting in a rocking chair, singing to one of the twins. Alatáriël wondered who was who. She did chuckle lightly at Elladan's declaration and Mirgil's annoyance at it. A sign that it had been said much recently. Alatáriël tipped her head to Lord Elrond out of respect. "Greetings, my lord," she said. However she only laughed more when Elrohir tried to point out possible jealously from his brother. She then turned her attention to Elrohir’s wife. "Mirgil, you look well," she said. "I would love to hold her, thank you." She carefully took the infant from it's mother and gently held it in her arms, carefully supporting the head on the nook of her arm. She looked over at the other twin that Elrond brought closer, giving her a better look. The infant's blue eyes gazed at her and she smiled. "I see the resemblance alright," she replied, speaking of Ellroher. "I think, I can see some agruements in the near future on who he looks more like." Alatáriël laughed.

Elrond laughed too and said, "Alatariel, you must also have the gift of forsight, or you just know my sons too well. There has already been several..... discosions about who they take after." Elladan opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Mirgil. "And I am in no mood to here from you how much they take after their uncle." she said as she streached and took a drink of water. "I would like to have a civoliced conversation for once. And since Alatariel as come for a visit, perhaps I just my get it." Elladan was about to argue that he was civolised, but deside against it. His sister-in-law had goten awly testy since she had become a mother.
Elrond gesterad to Alatariel, "Perhaps you would like to hold the boy? Not just because Elladan has said it, repeatedly, but I belive that this boy is very strong, both body and mind." He gentaly took Elemmire from Alatariel and handed her Ellroher. The baby boy smiled at Alatariel and grabed a strand of her hair. A shadow passed over Elrond's face as he looked at the Alatariel holding Ellroher. Arwen, who never missed anything, whispered to her father, "What is it?" Elrond studied them for a moment then whispered, "Nothing. Just... a posible future. A strange one, but not an altogether bad one." He added.

"Nay, my lord," Alatáriël said. "I only know them well, although I am not surprised that that has been discussed much already. They only thing he has taken from them is their appearance." She eyed Elladan. "I am sorry to say, but you will have to wait until he grows some before knowing who he will take after," Alatáriël added hoping to had put an end that discussion, trying to ease Mirgil's nerves.
"I would, thank you, my lord," Alatáriël said and carefully handed Elemmire over to her grandfather and then taking Ellroher from him. "So your uncle and grandfather think you will be a strong one, eh?" she said speaking to him. Almost instantly, Ellroher reached up and grabbed a piece of her hair, giving it a little tug. Although she did not find it assuming, the infant sure did, for she saw the smile on his face. "Okay, it is time to let go now," she said and she mananged to carefully pry open his tiny fingers open, releasing her hair from his grip.
Alatáriël looked up and noticed an expression on Elrond's face that she could not read. Arwen appeared to have understood it but she was his daughter after all. "My lord, is something amiss?" she asked.

Elrond mearly smiled and said, "No, just Elladan may be right after all. The boy is already starting to behave like his father did when he was born." He handed the girl in his arms to Arwen and took a step forward, looking his grandson over. Elrond had the gift of forsight, but he couldn't see everything. Sometimes, he only saw what might happen if given a chance. Ellroher grabed for one of Elrond's lose strands of hair, but the elf brushed it aside before the child could get a hold on it. Seeming to tire of with the game, Ellroher yawned and closed his eyes. Soon, he was breathing softly, fast asleep in Alatariel's arms. Mirgil motioned for Alatariel to lay her son down in the crib next to his sister. "With them finaly asleep, I can get out of this nurcery and get something to eat." She said exasustedly. Elrohir sliped his arm around her for support and let her out the door. Elladan muttered something about sword fighting as he exited. Arwen was gentaly rocking the crib and singing to the two sleeping infants as Elrond placed a hand on Alatariel's shoulder and let her out of the room. "Alatariel, how are your parents?" He asked as they entered the hallway. "Do you think that they would be opposed to you comeing here, once a week at most, to study elven lore?"

"It is possible," Alatáriël said. "He did give my hair a good pull." She watched as Ellroher tried the same with Elrond, however, he was prepared for it and brushed his hair out of the way. Alatáriël laughed quietly as the infant fell asleep of failing the second attempt to pull at someone's hair. "Well I see someone grew bored of that game rather quickly." She walked over to the crib and slowly and carefully, not wanting to make any sudden movements that would wake him, she placed Ellroher inside with his sister. Not once did he stir. She followed the rest of the family out of the room, ignoring Elladan’s muttering. She stopped at the door and watched Arwen sing to the babies for just a moment until Elrond placed a hand on her shoulder, leading her out of the room and into the hallway and asked about her parents. "They fare well," Alatáriël said. She then turned and looked at him, after he had questioned her about coming by to study. "I don't see a reason why they would," she answered. "They have not opposed against anything since I was a child."

Elrond smiled. "Excellent." he said, but then grew serous. "The power of the elves is beginning to wain. There have been no elflings born in Imladris since Arwen was born. There have been some born in Mirkwood, but none here. It seems as though the Elves are losing their love of Middle-Earth and setting sail for the Undying Lands." He was quite for a moment, deep in thought. Elrond looked back at Alatariel and smiled again. "But we have not all left. And we are blessed with two more lives. Come, let us begin with the history of the Valar."
25 years later
Ellroher ran down the hallway and stopped suddenly. He looked around for the best place to hide. Auntie Arwen and sissy Elemmire would be there any moment. But they wouldn't find him, he was the best at hide'n seek. Hearing his sister's laugh coming towards him, Ellroher decided to take the door on the right and rushed inside. He had barly closed the door when Elemmire and Arwen rounded the corner and walked right by him. Ellroher smiled triumphily to himself. "They'll never find me here." He looked around and frowned. He had actually never been in this room before. It was full of books and maps and paintings. Curious, Ellroher ventured further inside.
Ellroher had completely forgotten about playing hide'n seek. He had looked through a couple of books, but he could read very well yet, so he just looked at the drawings inside. He was fascinated with the old maps and the pictures of the great warriors. He wanted to be a great warrior like his father. Ellroher saw a picture of a great monster. "I could slay that monster when I get bigger." Looking around, he found a short stick and began to swing it like a sword. "A-ha! You have met your match you monster! I am Ellroher the monster slayer! Ha-Ha!" He trusted his sword into an imagenary monster and then spun around to hack his head off. But lost his balince and started to fall. His hand reached out to ketch himself and he grabed onto a vapistry that was hanging low to the ground. But it was not made to hold his weight. The bolts came right out of the wall and the whole thing fell over top of him with a lould crash. Ellroher was to shocked to move. "I'm in big trouble now." He said allowed.

Alatáriël heard the sounds of footsteps running through the halls of Elrond's home, and voices filling the air. Lady Arwen was about playing games with Ellroher and Elemmire. She sat in Elrond's study, writing out an essay. She did not like that part of study much. She had spent several years studying elven lore, with Elrond as her tutor. Although she had studied elven lore when she younger as part of the average education for a elfling, but Elrond's study was much more in depth when what she had learned in her early years.
She heard little Ellroher's voice coming from the room next door, Elrond's library. She was not entirely sure if he was suppose to be in there by himself or not. Come to think of it, she could not recall if Elrohir ever brought his son into the library. Alatáriël thought he should, books were good for a young a mind and she had noticed his lack of ability to read when she was sure a young elfling's reading level should be a little higher.
Alatáriël chucked lightly when she heard Ellroher's voice, talking out loud to himself and pretending that he was slaying a beast. A typical fantasy for a young male elf. They all dream of slaying great beasts and being heroes. She went back to her studying, shifting through pages of a book, looking for specific information. After a few moments, she dipped her quill into the ink well and wrote down a few notes while double checking the book be sure that what she was writing was correct. Alatáriël then heard a loud crash. She sighed and set her quill down. She already knew what the cause of the crash was. She rose from her desk and walked into the library and stood in the doorway. Alatáriël crossed her arms over her chest and eyed the young elf. "Getting into mischief again young one?" she said.

Ellroher froze when he heard "Getting into mischief again young one?" Slowly he crawled out from under the tapastery. Standing in the doorway with her arms crossed was a woman. Ellroher slowly stood and looked at the tapastery laying in a heap on the ground. His mind raised to think of a good story about what had happened, but he realized that he would never get away with it. Reluctantly, and trying hard not to cry, warriors never cryed, he said. "I was hiding from my sissy and aunty, we were playing hide'n seek. I hid in here and started looking at some of the books." He pointed to a stack of them that he had taken off the shelfs. He squirmed and figited. He knew that he was in big trouble, but papa always said that a warrior tells the truth, no matter how much it hurts. "I was slay'n monsters and I fell and pulled the big picture with me. I sorry." He put his head down, waiting for the woman to grab his hand and scold him.

"Indeed you were, young Monster Slayer," Alatáriël said with a grin. She noticed that Ellroher was very fidgety as he told her his story, almost as though if he were afraid of being scolded by her or even afraid of her general. She guessed that he was often scolded at by his family for his mischief, but it was not her place to punish him in any way, but she still had the authority to let one the family know when he got into trouble. However, she let it pass, clearing seeing that this time is was an accident. Alatáriël kneeled down and picked up the tapestry. "It is alright," she said softly. Eventually, his aunt will come and find him. She took the tapestry and hung back up in it's place. "You should be more carefull next time, young one," Alatáriël. "You shouldn't have been playing in here to begin with."

Ellroher watched in slience as Alatariel picked up the tapestry and hung it back on the wall. "I know." He said. This was a grown up room. Full of important stuff. But he was so cureous that he could help but ask. "Lady? Who is this?" Ellroher pointed to on of the books that lay opened on the ground. On the opened page was a drawing of two mighty figures. One was glad in white and looked like a mighty elf lord. He had a blue shield with a star on it and a mighty sword. The other was huge, prabably at least ten times bigger than the elf. He was clothed in all black and had a huge mace in his hand. Ellroher walked over and knelt by the book. He looked up at the lady and asked again. "Who are they? Who won? Is the Elf Lord still alive?" He wanted to know everything about this Elf Lord and the monster he was fighting.

Alatáriël looked down at the book the Ellroher was looking at. She knelt down and picked up the book and looked at the pictures for a moment. She held the opened book in one hand, then picked up the curious young elfling with the other. "Have patience, young one," Alatáriël said walking over to a chair in the corner of the library. "I shall tell you." She sat down in the chair, allowing little Ellroher to sit in her lap. "It is Fingolfin," she answered placing an index finger on the picture of the elf lord. "One of the former high kings of the Noldor, during the First Age of this world. And this…" she moved her finger towards the picture of the mighty beast. "…is Morgoth, an ancient evil. The dark lord of the First Age." Alatáriël's study of the ancient lore was still new and she tried to tell the story the best as she could. "Dagor Bragollach. Battle of Sudden Flame. Morgoth sent out a rivers of flame that had consumed the land of Ard-galen, which was later renamed Anfauglith. Many elves perished as they tried to escape the fire. Many warriors were slain. Fingolfin was enraged by the lose of many of the Noldor, he rode across Anfauglith and challenged the dark lord to single combat. They fought a great duel, Fingolfin's sword, Ringil wounded Morgoth seven times, but unfortunately, he was felled by Morgoth's hammer and was slain."

Ellroher forgot all about the tapistry he knocked down and the game of hide and seek he had been playing with his aunt and sister. He climbed onto the lady's lap and sat very still. He put his hand over his mouth and crunched his eyebrowls, trying to imitate his grandfather Elrond. That was how Elrond looked when he was deep in thought. Ellroher copied the gester, thinking that it would help him remember. He listen very closely to everything the lady said. But there was a lot he didn't understand. "What happened then?" He asked. "Morgoth isn't around now is he? And where is Ard-galen? I've never heard of it?"
The door suddenly opened and Arwen walked in holding Elemmire's hand. She paused a moment, taking in the scean, then laughed. "So there you are. Decided that you would rather court a lady than play with your sister." Ellroher fround and said, "I did not. She was just telling me about Morgoth and Fingolfin." He thought a moment then asked, "What does court mean?" Arwen just laughed and said to Alatariel, "I'm sorry if Ellroher bothered you, Alatariel. You must be really good at telling stories for him to have been sitting that quietly." She motioned for Ellroher to follow her. "Come now Ellroher, Lady Alatariel has a lot work to do. Perhaps she can tell you another story later." Ellroher reluctantly got down and followed his aunt to the door. But he turned around and said, "Thank you lady Alatariel for the story." Then he was gone, running after Arwen and his sister.
