Melian followed her and sat down on a stool. He heard Shalem ordering water and smiled.
Charley looked at Shalem: "How did it go, is the problem solved?" she asked hopeing it was.

"Yes, its all solved, i should be safe now from the Spirits." She said shortly not wanting to reveal she'd agreed to do the impossible in exchange for a bag of earth. "So, whats news?"

"Good, that is a relif to know," she drank a sip of her rum. "Little news here. We will live to find some rich dwarfs as soon as the ship i loaded. I am trying to think of where to go. You don't happen to know much about witch dwarfs will pay most for mithril do you?" she smiled.

"Well i doubt Moria, but i can't even remember wheather dwarfs still live there. There's the dwarfs of thr Lonely Mountian or the Iorn hills. But i don't know anything about them really. My kind stayed away from thiers." she replied candidly

"Well, I'll figure it out. I had the lonely mountain in mind, but I am not sure." she said. She took an other sip of her rum, looking thoughtfully into nothing.
Jack and Dom came walking over to there table, "Good day," Jack said cheerfully.
"Good day, Jack," Charely said, "You look a bit bether then you did this morning."
"Thank you, and so do you," he replied.
She gave him a bit dangerus look, "It is good for you that I am in a good mood today," she than said.
Charley spotted Dom's blue eye and turned back to Shalem, "Thank you, by the way, for warning Ryaes last night."

Shalem cringed. She could already feel the rest of the crews stares boreing into her, she'd hoped to keep the fact quite that she was the one who'd 'told on them'. No such luck. She looked down at the table "Just doing my job" she muttered

Charley had not thought that it would have given Shalem any trouble to say so. She had however wondered why Rayes had told her, that he had been asked by Shalem to help. She did not notice the looks the crew gave Shalem now either. "And very well to," she replied.
Dom looked like he had something he wonted to say, but did not dare to at the moment.
Jack was unsure what the whole thing was all about. He did not even remember that it had been a fight the night before. He had only been told by others.
At that moment Rayes entered the inn, he had arranged so that the ship would be ready to leave soon. He spotted Charley and walked over to her, "It is all taken care of, capt'n," he said sitting down, ignoring the others.
"Good, I will need to speak to you, about how we are going to get to the dwarfs, it can be a long way that we may have to do on foot." Charley told him. "Indeed captain," he awnsered. Then he turned to the other three, "Will you live uss then?" he said.

Shalem stood up quickly, before Rayes could say anything else and tell them she'd virtually begged his help. "Cap'n" she said hurriedly before withdrawing to a table at the other end of the room. Hopeing; in vain, that the others wouldn't follow.

But they did of course follow. Not everyone had heard the conversation, but those who had gave her a foul look. Dom and some other crew members that had felt Rayes strength the night before. Jack followed to. Melian kept close to Shalem as he had gotten a habit of doing. "What the bloody hell was that all about?" Dom asked in a low but still quite angry voice, "You told Rayes to take care of us?"

"Look, whitch would you prefere, Rayes breaking up a fight or getting in trouble the next morning and eatch get a lick of the cat?" she asnwered angrily, guilt seering through her.

Dom was still angry, "That is no excuse for you to make him stop us. It is like an unwritten rule." "That is true," Jack said.
Melian wonted so bad to say something, but his courage seemed to be failing him.

Shalem new that all arguments would be useless, mainly becuse she knew they were right. "Fine, I broke the rules, when someone punishes the rules you punish them right?" she didn't need them to answer. Instead she strode outside and down a side street, through an arch an into a secluded courtyard. She unwound a thin strip on leather from around her waist and tossed it to Jack, stripping down to the waist and stood aginst a wall, her bareback to them. "Come on, then we can call it even." she said harshly, her voice leaveing no room for disagrement.

The men that had followed her looked at each other, some of them with a grin. Dom where given a whip from one of them.
Shalem had now put him in a position he didn't wonted to be inn. He wonted her to pay for what she had done last night, but like this? He looked around himself with an unsure look. "Come on boy! She has it coming," a man shouted.
Melian was about to jump on Dom, even if Shalem fixed this her self. But Jack took a good grip in his shirt and held him quiet.
Dom lifted his hand and hit. Three times he hit her. Then he stopped, "We are even."

The lashes fell upon her back like fire, and she moned in pain as each fell, her pupils dilateing with pain as she clenched her fists. Just as the last blow fell there was a slight ripping sound, and priviouse cuts split open, raw against her white flesh; showing that she hadn't laways been punished so lightly. She stoopt down and put her shirt back on, winceing at the cloth scraped against the wounds. She nodded in thanks to Dom for not giveing her more and left the courtyard.
