"Ooooo, sounds like someone's got an idol." he laughed "Well from here you can see the entire barge, its not like some of the ships you see i know, or even as big as your sea-vessals, but she's a good craft our Otter." he smiled reflectvly. "Come on, i'l show you the mess, maybe we can get some ale and you can show me if your a great a fighter as your fame tells." He punched him lightly and ran down the steps.
Shalem returned from her talk with the Captain and knocked lightly on Rayes door, then let herself in. "Rayes, we may have a slight problem."

Melian smiled, "Let's." He did not wont sound stupid, so he did not say anything about the fact that he hated alcohol. "Ill fight you but I don't know if I can live up to anything. Ill try tho," he added with a grin.
"What?" Rayes said a bitt irritated.

"As expected, Hudsen wants payment. Whats not expected is that he wants coin as well as magic. As your the 'leader' here, i thought you might want to know...sir." She'd tried her best to keep it in a bussiness like-tone, but knew she'd failed on that last sentance.
"Brilliant" Tony laughed and opened a hach on the floor they stood on and jumed down into a wide room. "This is my freind Melain, and this is the Otter crew." he decalred by a way of introduction.

"Idiot, i'm the magic!" She laughed, honestly surprised for once at his stupidity. "I'm a Weather-worker reMember? Now maybe i'm not the best at sea, but i'm definatly the best here. Why do you think Hudsen agreed to take a load of outsiders on his boat? I was one of the best Captains that sailed the Rivers and i'm worth more than any coin you could pay." She shook her head in mock despair. "The coins a small amount, just a formality really; but i thought you should know...sir"
"Melain? As in the Apprentice Melain? The one The Kings Shaman told us about" A young girl who bore a strikeing resembalance to Tony stepped foreward
"The very same. Melain, this is my little sister Tsu"
"My name is Tsumalia" she replied with a frown
"Yeah Tsu. Get 'im a drink then and stop stareing." She blushed and disappered towards the bac of the room.

"Well, do what ever you do then," he said angry. Now he lowered his voice, "And call me idiot again and wish for death! And just so is clear: you are not worth much in my eyes, but if this people think you are worth something, then let's take advantage of that."
"Nice to meet you Tsumalia," he said whit a smile. He looked after her when she disappeared. Melian did not know if he liked all this attention, he was used to being left out of most things, and not given much attention.

She handed him a beaker and dimpled "Thankyou" she whispered, pleased to be called her full name.
"Come on, tell me about your life" Tony pulled him over into a courner and sat him down on the bench covered in patchwork cusions that covered it.
"I am takeing advantage of it but i'l not cheat my people. And just so its clear; your not worth much in my eyes either" she replied in the same tone

He smiled, "Well, it is not much to tell really. My life started when I meet captain Charley, the captain I work for. She gave me a job on her ship doing, well, what you do on a ship. It's hard work but I get to see much and things like that. Well, that was my not so interesting story. Now, tell me about the life you have lived?" he asked whit a bit excitement in his voice.
"It is a fantastic thing that it doesn't matter what you think," Rayes said with a nasty grin.

"You've been at sea though!" Tony pointed out "Well, i'v always lived on this boat, its my home. I was born here and my mother was Hudsens forth or fith cousin or...something. Most of us are familly here and if not we're from the same tribe.
Well my mother died when Tsu was born and we've just been brought up by aunts and stuff. I'm a cabin-boy and a runner. There's not really much to tell. One day i'm gonna be a Shipsmate but i'v got to get better before i become that." she grinned "So whats it like at sea?"
"It dose here and I think you'll find Charley cares what i think as well" she replied with a smirk.

"It is quite nice sometimes. I love the sea. It is a special feeling being out there. As I said it is hard work, much to do on a ship, the wave is quite a big ship to," there was a bit of pride in his voice. "I believe that to be captain would be the best job in the world. You know, get to be on sea without doing all the hard work."
"Well, Charley is not here."

Tony sat entranced, drinking in everyword. Tsu had crept up behind him and sat listening also. Finally Tony broke his revive with a shake of his head; like a dog. "I suppose, but then you've got ll the responsibility if anything gose wrong, and you've got to make such important desicions.
"Huh" She smiled and tilted her head slightly to one side. "True, but this is my turf, so i think you'll find, here at least, we're pretty much equal." she smirked knowng that he would hate to think that anyone saw her as equel to him.

"Aye, but I guess is good to be in control, even if you have to make hard decisions. Well, anyway, I hope I can get higher rank when I get older, is all a matter of age and strength," he said looking down on his own skinny arms.
"This is a twisted people. And it is very temporary," he said trying to control himself.

"Twisted?" She snarled at him, pulling herself up to her full height "Twisted?" What had been a fair day suddenly disapperead at the onslaught of crashing rain. "I swear by all the Gods that you will regret those words Rayes." She spat before turning around and makeing for the door.

Rayes got up and took a grip of her arm so she could not leave, "Listen here, I don't like you, you don't like me. The way things are. But let's stop fighting. Well, at least for a short while. This is your bloody people, do whatever you do. The sooner we leave them the better." he said letting go of her.
