"Brother, I am one of the few people who would have anything to do with, though I know you profess yourself to be dark, a light nation. I am already frowed apon for haveing an alliance with Rohan, and for tradeing with elves, and for speaking of caution during war. I think you should go through with your plan. It should prove to them that you truly are one of us, and i have a feeling, that they will be eager to help you in War. Though I would not counton it a hundred percent."

He nodded as he listened to her. " What you say i believe to be wise council. My soldiers are already preparing for the Campaign agaist Dale. The soldiers there are of Gondor and will be easily overtaken for there is not enough time to send for help before we overtake the city. " He said with a smile. " But tell me, who is it that is the most influencial of all the Dark Lords? "

"With the new allocation of lands i really couldn't say. But my favorite would be Nurion, he's a good freind, though the King of Haradwaith would be a good bet, i don't know if his sister still rules with him."

He nodded as he listened to her and shook his head whenever she mentioned Neurion. " I figured that is who you would say. " He said calmly. " Unfortuantly i had a talk with him a little while ago. He does not think to highly of the dwarves. " He said shaking his head. " Perhaps you could speak with him for me. "

She smiled cynicaly. "Brother, how many times must i say this. We do not trust each other, he would not take advice from me on who to allie himself with, he has no reason to. We warn each other, advise each other. But mostly we ignore each others words. I have alliances with unusual people, he preferes to take risks in battle, not politics. No little brother, if he's refused an alliance then i'l not speak with him"

He nodded as he listened to her. " That is fair enough. It is sad however that the Evil realms do not trust one another. It is not wonder that your forces are often defeated in battle. " He said calmly. " However, such things as that are dark subjects in which we need not speak of at this time. " He said with a kind smile. " But do tell me of your army. Are they ready for battle? " he asked.

"Yes" she answered shortly "We have renown as the greatest fighters in Middle Earth, and though i have not led them to war yet do you think i would ever let my country not be prepared for instant battle?" she regarded him coldly.

He listened to her words and smiled. " Very well spoken. It is indeed good to know that there is another army that is ready if it is called upon. " He said with a calm smile. " Now. " he said with another smile as he stood to his feet. " If you will follow me there is something that i desire to show you. " He said calmly.

An Easterling messenger arived at the Iron hills, barring the colors of Rhun and a flag of truce. When questioned, he simply replied, "A message from the Lord of Rhun to the Lord of the Dwarves. He alone will I give my message."

At the time that the messenger had come to the Iron Hills, Gurth Ironclaw happened to be standing upon the wall instructing his guards about a certain matter which required his attention. He looked over the wall at the messenger. " I am he. However, i do not accept messages from Lords, Kings or Queens. I shall only speak to them in person. " He said calmly as he looked over at his guards then back at the rider.

The messenger, seeing the Dwarven Lord, dismounted and gave a short bow. "Master Dwarf, my lord bid me to request an audeounce with you. He awaits your word of safe passage before he comes himself." The messenger bowed quickly again and awaited the Dwarf's reply.

Gurth looked down at the messenger and nodded. ' Very well, your leader may have free passage to my lands. He and his soldiers that he brings shall not be harmed. However, no more than 100 soldiers is he allowed to bring, any more than that shall be a sign of aggression and you shall all be killed. Is that clear messenger? " He asked calmly as he awaited the mans answer.

The messenger bowed and said, "I will inform my lord." He remounted his horse and without another word, left.
Two hours later, three squads of troops marched towards the Iron hills. They were Easterlings, prould, strong, disaplened and highly trained. At their head rode three riders. The one in frount was dressed in full battle armor, minous his helm. The other two wore black veils, hiding their faces. The troops stoped just outside the main gate. The three dismounted and gave the rains to the troops. The tall man in frount called into the gate, "I am Rawhide, Lord of Rhun. I seek the Master of the mountain."

As the procession of soldiers marched towards the wall of the Iron Hills the gate began to open. Out of that gate streamed line after line of dwarves in full battle armor, axes in hand, heavy spear and crossbow as well. They formed a straight line for about 200 yards consisting of around 600 dwarves. Through the middle of the lines came forth a procession of around 50 more dwarves all following behind one dwarf who was in full golden armor with a huge battle axe. He came forth and addressed the man. " I am Ironhide, Lord of all the Dwarves and the Shire. What is it that you can give me that i do not already have? How do i benefit from an alliance?" He asked calmly.

The Easterling solders became uncomfterble when they found themselfs suddenly sourounded by dwarves. But Rawhide held his hand out for them to remain motionless and they realazed a little. As long as their Lord was at ease, they would be too. Rawhide bowed in respect to the Dwarf lord and said, "I am not, at this time, interested in an alliance. What I am interested in is the skills of the Dwarves. I have come with an offer. I need Dwarves. At least a thousand Dwarves. I need fortresses build. Great fortresses that can withstand attacks and hold back a seage for years on it's own. I want hidden caves where troops and supplies can be hidden in time of need. I need the building skills the likes of which only the Dwarves posess. That is what I have come to ask." Rawhide paused a moment to let his request sink in and then added, "I know not what the Dwarves would take as payment, but you may choose your price."
