It is the 5th age of Middle Earth, The king of Gondor rules his lands with grace, their has not been a unrest since the ending of the 3rd age, the elves of course have almopst left these lands, and the dwarfs stay within their stone halls, and the orcs and trolls stay within the darkest confines of their caves.
But within the east their may not be a lord of shadow, but the lands of Rhun, Khand, and Harad are restless, squibling for more, even so much as building an allinace with each other, but all this goes without the kings of Gondor and Rohan knowing of such a thing.
