Nodonn was born in the Noontide of Valinor, the result of a brief liasion with Eonwe, Herald of the Valar and a Noldorin elf of the people of Fingolfin.
From the beginning, Nodonn spent much more time with his father, whom none ever surpassed in deeds of arms, ( although Tulkas was stronger ) . He learned from him over the thousands of years when the Eldar grew and thrived, and when Melkor was unchained and the Noldor gave thought to arms, and first forged weapons, Nodonn was eager to teach them. It was then the Noldor gave him the name Battlemaster.
He listened to the subtle lies of Melkor, and his mind became turned to Middle Earth. He could imagine the vast , empty lands, where he might live and rule.
Although Eonwe tried to restrain him, Nodonn was adamant, and he departed Valinor, but before the destruction of the Trees.
He first came to Beleriand, where he spoke with the elves there, and then , ever curious, went on over the Blue Mountains , into the East of the world. Here he encountered Avari, and little news reached him of the Exile of the Noldor.
Morgoth, fleeing back to Middle Earth and to Angband, knew the son of Eonwe was there, and sought him, but Nodonn eluded him, he had no desire to call Morgoth master and in the ensuing wars he played no part, serving neither Morgoth nor later Sauron.
In the far east of the world, he made himself a king over certain tribes of men who lingered there, having never gone westwards. Those he ruled learned much from him and he became rich as the years passed, but often travelling into the west, as the Ages past. After the destruction of the One Ring, with Sauron gone, Nodonn began to expand his influence.
Nodonn is brutally anomolous, he cannot be called truly evil, and certainly not good, he respects only skill in arms, and power , but save for his father, in Valinor, Nodonn respects no-one.
