He lived at the western boarder in Mirkwood, in Rhosgobel.

Radagast was one of the five Wizards sent to Middle-earth in the Third Age. They were selected by the Valar to encourage the peoples of Middle-earth to go against Sauron. Radagast was a Maia named Aiwendel. He was selected by Yavanna, the Vala of growing things. According to one tale, Yavanna asked Saruman to take Radagast with him to Middle-earth.
He is also a good friend of Beorn, who lives not far away from himself.
