Rawhide as trained with and knows how to use almost every weapon imaginable. He is most famous for his skill with a whip and knife.
History: Morhin was the result of an Easterling raid on some Elven travelers who were heading from Lothlorien to Mirkwood. Galhelma, an Elven maiden, was taken by the Easterlings sold into slavery. After being sold to one crew master to another, she was finally sold to a man named Rohas.
Rohas use to be a captain in Rhun’s army when the Easterlings were honored solders, respected and skilled. But over time, the Generals of Rhun became interested in their own personal gain instead of that of the country. So Rhun declined from her old tradition where the solder was respected and honored to bands of bickering warlords.
Rohas loved Galhelma, and did not treat her as a slave. He married her, though she didn't have a choice in the matter. Galhelma was treated very well by Rohas, but she longed to return to the trees of her people. Seeing how much she wanted to return, Rohas took her and traveled to within sight of the town of Dale. There he let her go.
After Galhelma returned to Mirkwood, she discovered that she was with child. So ashamed was she that she wanted to kill the child as soon as it was born. But her older brother, Belkwen, begged her not to. He said that it was not the child’s fault and that he shouldn’t be blamed for what happened. He also said that the child most likely belonged to Rohas and since he had allowed her to escape she should keep the child out of respect for him. So the child was born and she called him Morhin, dark child, because his skin and hair were as dark as the night compared to the bright fair skin of the elves.
Though she had wanted to kill him when he was born, Galhelma soon found that she loved him and treated him as if he were a regular elf-ling. Morhin grew up quick and strong. Though his skin lightened as he grew older, most of the elves treated him differently. The only support he received was from his mother and uncle.
Belkwen taught him how to survive in the woods of Mirkwood. Morhin became very skilled with a sword and bow, but he became know throughout Mirkwood for his skill with a knife.
Besides his mother and uncle, there were only two or three elves that called him friend. So at the age of 18, Morhin left Mirkwood and headed to Rhun to find his father.
After 12 years of fighting to just to survive in Rhun’s harsh land, Morhin, found his father. Unfortunately, the two never got to know each other very well. Rohas had a death mark on him by the Tatteyen for he had sworn loyalty to Morwen, the Queen of Rhun and would not aid the Tatteyen in anything they planed. The Tatteyen attacked and though they were defeated by Morhin and Rohas, Rohas was fatally wounded. On his death bed, Rohas told Morhin that he could die a proud man knowing that even with all the evil things he had done in his life; he had a son which he was honored to fight with and was a good man. Rohas then gave Morhin a his silver handled bull-whip. Rohas muttered something about his daughters just before he died. Morhin belives that he may have found a wife after Galhelma left. Although he has been unable to conferm this.
A little note should be added here about this bull-whip. It has a silver handle with runes on it. Nothing too special, unless you think about it. It is writen in the ancient toungs of the Noldar. Rohas was given the whip by his father, who had receaved it from his father, and so on and so forth farther back then can be remebered. But it is belived that the whip first belonged to Bor, one of the Easterlings who remained faithfull at the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. Though all of that house was slain, the whip seemed to have survived. The whip seemes have some elven magic in it. For it will hold onto, or release it's self from an object apond command. When cracked, it is far loulder than any ordenary whip. And it will not every hit it's weilder.
Becuase of his father's death, and events that would later unfold, Morhin hatted the Tatteyen. He vowed that he would avenge his father and serve the country that his father had loved so much. So Morhin took the name Rawhide and entered into the service of the Queen of Rhun. The Queen of Rhun decided to test Rawhide's loyalty and skill and gave him command over one of the Chapters of Rhun.
However, this Chapter was infamous for being the worst and most undisciplined Chapter in all of Rhun. Rawhide turned it into the best Chapter that Rhun had ever known. There was such a change in the men that they renamed the Chapter to the Black Dragons. Although Rawhide almost lost his life when a traitor was found among them.
After that, the Queen trusted Rawhide and appointed him as Commander over all of Rhun's Military, and then later named him King of Rhun when she stepped down. But Rawhide did not want to be king and begged Morwen to return to her throne. Rawhide then took on the title of Grand Warmaster of Rhun.
Present day: Morwen has not returned to Rhun. So the Tatteyen are making a bid for power. But Rawhide stands in there way.
