Hi everyone,
I read the e-mail sent by the admins a few days ago and thought I'd drop by again. I've been registered for some years now, but never posted much because I don't RP. I do like discussing Tolkien and I'd like to give that a try here.
I'm a 20-year-old Belgian college student. My name's Michael. I've been reading Tolkien for four years now. The Silmarillion is my favorite book; the scale of Tolkien's works, the amount of history there is to his world, which I appreciate so much, is to my feeling brought closest to the reader in The Sil. I wouldn't call myself a Tolkien expert; I've only read the first three parts of the HOME series. What I can do is give a decent synopsis of Arda's three Ages and what came before; I don't speak Quenya or Sindarin, though I know the meaning of most place and character names. So I would call myself something inbetween a starter and an expert.
I hope to have a good time here, have some fun posting and maybe get to know some people.
Ithuar

Hey, welcome back! It's nice to know that people actually read the mass e-mails, and even nicer to know that some of them even drop in again! You must've registered practically at the opening of the site, which is before I did - It's impressive that you've been a member for so long and only made nine posts! Anyway, I have to disagree about the Silmarillion, I personally found it immensely boring, although I managed to make my way through the whole thing eventually. It was purely my love of "The Hobbit" and the LotR series that got me through to the end. However, I think I know enough about Tolkien's works to get by. Well, I'm not too great at introductions, so I'll just let you get to know me by posting on the site. Don't forget to post in the Activity Check, and once again: Welcome back! Khamûl

Not posting is easy. I'll be increasing my post count now. I had some difficulties getting through some chapters of The Sil, too, on my first read. But I read it again and again and learnt to even appreciate the chapter that explains what Beleriand looks like; you might remember it (I believe it is 'Of Beleriand and its Realms'). I thought that one was the most dull. Anyway, you might feel like reading it again one day. I just happened to have posted in the Activity Check topic You're okay with introductions. I appreciate the welcome. Thank you.
