Cluster of Thieves.. Anyone?

Is your character without? Are they rebellious and in need of some sort of amusement in their lives?

Well, it is possible that you have stumbled across the best thing for them since the Ring was destroyed. Here is a proposition for all those lonely travellers out there who despise rules, despise being on one side and prefer being fence sitters. This proposition is for those that are willing to join a contingent of sorts.

I have been considering of late… well, if the world of Arda had rangers why can it not have a group of thieves?

These people will be neutral and will bargain with “anyone” to get what they want. They do not always roam around as a group, but mingle like travellers. Learn what information they can… steal what they can… and every so often join to discuss news. This will also give them bargaining leverage to either side. They won’t be able to be attacked by either side… yet they can betray each to some extent…

They will be led by a notorious character. Each character will still be independent, but they will be traced back to the Group of Thieves… they’ll have some rules to stick too… and the leader will be nothing like a King, or Commander… Basically it is like a faction…

Any opinions, suggestions, ideas… nothing is finalised… things can be changed. Just let me know what you think. If you are up for the challenge don’t hide in a corner.

I like it. In fact, you could take in one step farther. In Rhun, there are the Taytteen, a nasty group of people who are trying to take over Rhun. You could use them and make a pretty cool faction.

Interesting.

I sort of had the idea that these people are like gypsies... they don't like settling down in one place- simply because it might give away their disguise. Though they may be rogues- they don’t exactly want to be caught unawares. I don’t think they’d take over some land… they are more into messing with the game.

Like if two people were playing chess and another comes in and moves a piece. One side is that bit closer to winning or losing. They are those type of people- like to mess up stuff.. Just to make the world more interesting for them. They are common thieves and will ransack travellers and steal their stuff…. Etc

I like your suggestion though. It would be interesting. I’d like more people to join in- I wouldn’t want to just do it myself… so… the offer is still open- and when we get enough people we will discuss what we want… our plot line etc…
