This is the Courtroom of Forlond that deals with all crimes commited in the region of Forlindon. It is a large echoing room set out in traditional courtroom style exept from a large ornatly carved chair that sat next to the judge. It was here that Cirdan would sit if there was a particular crime he wanted to investigate.

The entire court was in a mood of nervousness and tension. Every now and then members of the court would glance at the tall statly figure sitting throne next to the judge. Why was Cirdan, Lord of the entire Lindon, attending the trial of a simple peasant? It was rumoured that the girls ranger-like cloaths had somthing to do with it but there ahd been no definite answers. Everyone was silent waiting for the girl to be brought before them.

She had been barricaded and under supervision all the way here. This was entirely dismal- to think that someone trying to prove a point could be treated as some sort of villain. So, she had stolen something- so what? So many other people stole things… yet they were never punished. Who could blame someone for trying to survive?
Bridie was held in the arms of two muscular sentinels- since the last ones had earned themselves a few scar… and one of them a broken nose. They squeezed around her arms with so much force she was sure they were going to bruise- at least show some pigment of a different colour. She struggled against the tight grip, kicking out with her legs. But, they were quick to ignore these feeble attempts.
Finally they brought her before this court of people- all in which stared at her in some kind of disarray. Hadn’t they ever seen someone like her? What fools they were- to actually conform to a society that wasn’t even worth being part of… half the time. They were treated like scum anyway.
“Stop struggling… morsel,” said one of the guards. His hold still fierce. She looked at him and glared. She’d kick his shin in, but that was covered by a shiny metal- it would probably break her foot… so she quickly decided against that.
“Morsel…,” she laughed sarcastically, “… I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“You’ll have my hand across your face if you don’t quit struggling and talking,” the other said in an absurd tone. He wasn’t the most friendly looking of the two- but you can’t judge a book by the cover.
“Oh,” she gave him a puzzled look, “So you take pleasure in hitting women, do you?”
She ducked as a hand came her way. The grip of the guard had removed so he could focus on hitting her. This allowed her the advantage, and using the support of the other sentential holding her arm she kicked the other man, who had seemed intent in hitting her, in the stomach- winding him so he was down on the ground hauling for breath. With her free hand, she quickly turned it on the other guard, and hit him in the face as hard as she could. He would probably have a fractured jaw… but at least she was no longer in his grip.
“That hurt,” she said shaking her fist and stepping forward to face the judge and rolled her eyes, “So, what am I on trial for? Assault? Disturbing the peace?”

At first Bridie's remark was met with a stunned silence. Everyone was having the same thoughts: This strange ranger-woman ahd just succesfully disarmed to Sentries and loudly demended that teh court tell her what she was charged for!! It was unheard of for a criminal to be this stupidly disrespectful!! Did she not know that this court could get in prison? Eventually it was the judge who broke the silence. "You have been brought before thsi court and the Lord of Lindon himself for charges of disturbing the peace, unprovocked violence, refusal to comply with the authorities and theivery." Then Cirdan spoke "I would also liek to know why you wear the garb of a ranger. From what I know rangers are exclusivly male and your recent behaviour is very un-rangerike"

OOC: Sorry for my late reply. I lost the internet connection after a power-out. Only just got the internet back. Bridie knew that she had the eyes of the entire procession. That everyone was stunned to see the behaviour in which she carried herself around in- she was a woman… and suppose to act in a more established way. She was definitely a stranger to all these people- and if anything she was probably peculiar and eerie. But that was her choice. She didn’t want to fit in, so she preferred to stand out. The fact that she had disarmed two men so easily, especially when she was a woman was probably fear-provoking and worrisome. She massaged her hand while waiting for the reply. It was probably a good idea to exercise some sort of patience. After all she wasn’t all that bad. Finally, after all the shock had slowly disappeared from everyone’s faces, the Judge finally broke his lips that seemed to be stuck together. "You have been brought before this court and the Lord of Lindon himself for charges of disturbing the peace, unprovoked violence, refusal to comply with the authorities and thievery."A smile crossed her face, “I can deal with the charges for theft- I guess I saw that coming. As for refusal to comply with authorities…” she took a deep breath and slowly began to pace, “…I doubt any woman would obey authorities when they demand intimate favours, and along those lines my violence was not unprovoked- I was merely proving a point and protecting myself. As for disturbing the peace… well, it was necessary just in case they overcame and attempted to rape me.” She stopped hearing the crowd mumbling and muttering stuff to the people beside them. So obviously her point had gotten across… and the fact that she had owned up to each charge stating the truth and why it had come to pass. But there was always one or two who simply wouldn’t believe a woman. Bridie paused from speaking for a moment and then looked toward the Lord of Lindon- guessing he was sitting next to the judge. He’d spoken to her, “I would also like to know why you wear the garb of a ranger. From what I know rangers are exclusively male and your recent behaviour is very un-rangerike."“Well I daresay when one is itinerant and nomadic… whether they are man or woman they would not intend to wear the flowing gowns women wear- less they wish to be caught. Now I hope you are not being sexist- if you have travelled out of this place for the last decade or so you would have noticed that quite a few women have taken up the trade of a ranger. And who is to say that I am a ranger?”

The judge turned to Cirdan for him to pass judgement. Then after a period of silence Cirdan again spoke "On the charges of theft you have confessed and will therefore he fined the exact amount of money that you atole. As for the rape accusations, this will be investigated and dealt with normally. Also I think that it is clear that you are not a ranger so I have no more questions to ask of you." He gestured to the guards. "She is not to be imprisond however untill teh rape allegations ahve been fully investiagted I want you to make sure she will not leave teh city as she is a valuble witness."

Bridie watched the Judge- it seemed the fool didn’t have any idea about what to with something as extraordinary as her case. She felt like she should be the one judging the situations- she should give herself her own punishment… but these days people didn’t do that- did they? PA-THET-IC!
"On the charges of theft you have confessed and will therefore he fined the exact amount of money that you stole. As for the rape accusations, this will be investigated and dealt with normally. Also I think that it is clear that you are not a ranger so I have no more questions to ask of you. She is not to be imprisoned however until the rape allegations have been fully investigated I want you to make sure she will not leave the city as she is a valuable witness." "
“Are you serious? I’m not growing an apple and giving it back to someone that doesn‘t even know it is missing!” she groaned and crossed her arms. Come on- it was only a piece of food… some rich person’s mouth wouldn’t even eat it- it would just be there for decoration, “And.. I wasn’t raped… they attempted to bribe me into it… and don’t you dare think I am going to stay in this place a moment longer- if I am to be controlled by these things,” she flicked her hand backwards indicating the guards who were coming up behind her.
Yes. She head heard them, she quickly turned and glowered at them, “Touch me and I’ll knock your blocks off!” The guards stood paralysed at her acute hearing… and quick reflex towards hearing them advancing upon her, “Keep them and their kind away from me… and you’ll have my attention. If I am forever watching my back and defending myself- I have no chance to cooperate do I?”
She then started walking to the door only to have a few other guards step in her way, “Not you as well…,” she shook her head, “Don’t you people ever learn a lesson- I am not a woman to be trifled with. Now I’d appreciate being allowed out of this room. I’m claustrophobic!”

Cirdan looked at Bridie sternly. "You will remain in the city and your movments watched. The money that would have been payed for the apple if it were on the market you will repay and the allegations you amde againsed the soldiers shall be investigated. That is the final verdict of bthis court. Failure to comply will result in imprisonment.

“You will remain in the city and your movements watched. The money that would have been payed for the apple if it were on the market you will repay and the allegations you made against the soldiers shall be investigated. That is the final verdict of this court. Failure to comply will result in imprisonment.”
Bridie turned around in an almost ferocious manner at the words which were practically aimed at her. The crowd that had formed in the Court room were still gasping every time she retaliated… every time she rebelled. She pushed through some guards who were reluctant to move out of her way. She was quick to push them away if they grabbed for her- so none attempted.
“I have no money!” she hissed, “I take what I need to survive- even if I can’t afford it. For your information… whomever you might be- some people aren’t as fortunate to have the wealth of a country behind them! I will not conform to society nor their expectations. This is a free world- and I will do as I please!”
“Failure to comply will result in imprisonment.”
“Go ahead!- Try and put me in a tower, a dungeon, a cell… a hole- whatever you people feel is satisfactory for someone trying to survive- when they have no family, no education…. Sure- if you want someone to go insane. I bet you there is nothing you can put me in, that I cannot get out of. So, don’t you dare threaten to lock me up!”
She pointed at the Lord with a malicious glare, “Go and sit on your throne- and think you are doing the best for the people in this world- but when you start attacking the innocent.. There has to be something seriously wrong!”
Guards moved forward to restrain her- to remove any weapons incase she was ready to strike out. As soon as she heard it, she gave them a powerful smirk that seemed to say ‘try buddies- it’ll be funny to see you face down on the floor- beaten by a woman… yet again’.

"Attacking innocent people? Ha! I did not order an attack on anyone young woman!! I am merely trying to bring order to my realm and you, with your failure to comply with the law of the land, are destroying this order. You were the one who stole and you were teh one who accused my men of ill deeds. As such you must stay here to see that both of these matters are resolved.

Bridie rolled her eyes, “Don’t you dare call me young! That implies that I am a child- but a more adult then any of the people in this room,” she glared now at him. Her eyes full of disdain and annoyance. They had provoked the side of her, they probably didn’t want exposed, “I travel this land with out laws, without having someone guarding me- that makes me more adult then any of you.”
“.. And I never… destroyed the order. If I did, I wouldn’t be here would I? Yeah, so think about that before you go accusing someone of it,” she turned to the crowd, “There is your proof Ladies and Gentlemen of accusing the innocent…”
Her smirk prevailed now, as noticed a few people nod in acknowledgement in the background- slowly, one by one she was winning them to her side, “I freely admitted that I stole, but that is a petty crime in comparison to what your own men attempted to do- and if I must accuse the frigging guilty… then I frigging will.”
“I know the likes of you… and the way these things are run. You’ll look me up for a few weeks saying there was more urgent matter at hand- and what simply be pushed to the side? I don’t think so- not right now. I have places to be and places to see…”

Cirdan rubbed his head and let out a long sigh "If that is how you feel" he told Bridie "then we will proceed to investigate your accusations againsed the guards without your aid but you will not leave untill you have paid the exact amount of money that apple would have cost at the market to the man you stole it from. Once you have done that you are free to go."
((Sorry about the wait))
