After the first age Cirdan the Shipwright erected a monument to Unlmo, thanking the Valar for all that he had done to help the Falanthrim (the sea-elves whom Cirdan was the head). Cirdan himslef had been contacted by Ulmo countless times and this monument of white marble, Aquarmarines and saphires was a way of thanking him. Over time this came to be called a Temple by men who considered the Valar to be gods although no formal worship was ever conducted here.

Eruraina, who rarely ever traveled, left the comfort of her home of Lórien, decided to travel to Lindon. But she was not going to take a ship. She just wanted to see the realm and the sea, for she had never seen it before. She was of a mixed race, and there was Telerin blood within her. The scent of the sea filled the air and Eruraina slowly inhaled the new smell. She came upon the Temple of Ulmo, the Valar of the Sea and favored the Teleri. Never had she visited any temple of the Valar, for none exists in Middle-earth. She walked around the temple and placed a delicate hand upon it's wall, as if though she were trying to sense a change of energy within the structure.

Cirdan also was walking through the Temple. He did so often, remeniscing of his time in Belariand and of Ulmo's promise that he would one day reach the undying lands. Cirdan desperatly wanted to leave but he knew his prescence was the only thing keeping the teleri shipbuilders from journying west and if they left passage westard would be closed. That was one thing he could not have on his concience. He was just in the middle of one such thought when he noticed another female elf in the Temple aswell. The coat of arms on her cloths was strangly familiar. Cirdan racked his brain for answers but all he could remember was it had something to do with Lorien.

Eruraina removed her hand from the wall and turned around, knowing that there was another in the temple with her. Her gray eyes focused on the elf. Although she had never seen him before, she did know who he was. She could sense he was not very happy, and wanted to leave this land. Any elf could sense that feeling. Eruraina tipped her head out of respect for the aged elf. "My lord, Círdan," she said softly.

Now that she had spoken he has instantly recognised her as the stewerd of Lorien and so he also bowed his head before speaking. "It is an honour and a privallage to have you here Lady Elsurie. Are you intending to aquirrie a ship westward?"

Eruraina lifted her head, surprised at the name Círdan had called her. No one ever addressed her by her given name. She always went by her father name. She then wondered how he knew. "Nay, my lord, I have not come seeking a ship, for I am not ready to sail," Eruraina answered. "I only wished to see the realm. I have not see any other Elven realm or much else for that matter. I rarely left my homeland. And I also wanted to see the temple."
