Standing on a balcony of what she thought was a skeleton of a city, Alyssa looked at what remained of the great tree city, All what was white would soon fade to grey, As the last of the elves begin to leave for the undying lands, the regal glow of the city would soon fade. The lamps, still brightly lit would soon go out, the banners that always flickered gently in the wind, would soon stop moving. The city was going to be an empty shell and all that would be left would be memories.
Those who remained were soon to leave for the trail to the boats which waited for them, Alyssa was to leave with Eldarion, Prince of Gondor to live with him while the rest of her people were carried across the sea. She would not be alone in Gondor, Eldarion told her of the many thousands of Elves that had taken to living within the great walls of Gondor, she had also assigned a small group of Elvish maidens, to shadow her whenever she needed them.
Without the Elves, the great tree city would become nothing more than a landmark. A sigh escaped from Alyssa's mouth as she looked around, she then walked along the balcony she was stood on, her hand running smooth against the marble railing, her silk dress chased after her feet as she walked.
At last she came to stand in front of her Mothers palace, the beautiful white crystal palace that stood at top most highest of the city, turning her back to the huge marble steps she lifted her head and merely looked upon the building, a wave of memories washing over her.

As Alyssa stood on top of the balcony in the high trees near the palace of her mother, Eldarion whom was at ground, looked up and admired the beauty which the elves had created. Now soon it all would be gone, as the elves whom lived there seemed to wander to the undying lands of the west. It was a sad thought, but the memory of them would remain forever. The blue lights which flickered in the trees was now slowly being lit out, one after the another as each home was emptied.
The treasures which lingered there, was offered to Eldarion and his realm, to be watched over and to be used in times of need. All their belongings which the elves no longer needed, was given away and such would the memory of them, always be with the race of men. Surely Alyssa had come to Lorien, many days before Eldarion himself, but as he arrived on his great stead, he brought his men and his servants, whom would not only take Alyssa home to Gondor after, but also all that was given them.
By the look which Eldarion gave up toward the trees, he saw also his love of life, Alyssa. She looked sad and he knew why, but hopefully the grief would not be to hard for her to bare, as they too soon where to marry. Since some days before Alyssa had gone to say farewell, Eldarion had asked her hand in marriage and she had accepted it.
In the royal clothes of Gondor, Eldarion sat on his white horse, but soon dismounted it as he himself wanted to greet Alyssa with love again, cause long had they been parted. With quick steps from his horse, he began to walk up the marble stairs which shined of great light, until he came to where Alyssa stood looking over the palace of her mother. "Alyssa..." Eldarion spoke softly, as he sneaked up behind her.

The gentle breeze blew coldly over Alyssa's shoulders. How she disliked seeing the city being reduced to this, It was always a place of peace and power and now all that remained powerful, was draining away, What was happening had to be done. The elves could no longer feel at peace here which is why they travelled to the west to strengthen their hearts.
Her pale blue eyes became glassy, Her whole life had been made in this city, all her adventures in her young days, all the people she had met, all her teachings from her mother and her tutors, happened here. Alyssa knew this day would come but it still felt so soon, but it was time.
Trying to keep her tears within, she did indeed feel the presence of another, her other half to be exact, the man she was indeed to live with in the white city of Gondor, She heard his voice, but didn't react in the way she normally would, her voice was soft.
"Eldarion..My darling...the city..it looks so.."
Then she turned towards Eldarion, two simple tears sliding down her cheeks one at a time, her voice now still soft yet slowly drowning in her sadness. "It is...my duty to go. My people feel nothing here...the beauty is abandoned for the bitter years to take over...This I fear...is what will happen to me." More tears fell down her face at that moment.

"O, Alyssa...my love, don't think such ways...what now is to come, will change the future. But you will go on, and you will carry on the legacy of your kin, as others also will in this world. Surely there are many who passes into the undying lands, but not all."
Eldarion replied with a soft voice as he approached his love, she was a true beauty and Eldarion admired her, but seeing her sad was not something he wanted. Carefully as he came to her, his hand gentle touched her cheek, as he stretched to take away the tears which fell from her eyes. With a slight smile, Eldarion looked deep into her eyes and wondered how she would feel when it all was gone. Hopefully would the marriage which was to happen, cheer her up from the sorrow. If not, then things could be difficult for them.
As closer Eldarion came, he went to hold around her and together did they turn to look upon the palace of her mother. It was an amazing sight, but surely it was sad that much of it would soon be gone. Already down below, many of the elves walked gently out of Lorien while carrying light with them. It was as they always had done, when they left to the Undying lands, but this time it felt worse, as soon now the complete forest of Lothlorien would be emptied, and only few of their kin would remain in the world.
"Come, let us go inside the palace. Perhaps we will find your mother there." Eldarion said, but waited for Alyssas respond.

Alyssa stood in her beloved's arms, she looked down below at the elves who walked on with lamps, setting off for the long journey to the Grey havens, where they'd take the ships to the undying lands where they would find peace.
Each group of Elves that left the city recieved Alyssa's blessing, that they have a safe journey across the sea and that they find peace within Valinor. She made a promise, a promise that she would be with her people again some day, she would not let the spirit of the Elves die.
Turning her head as her tears were wiped away, she looked up into Eldarions eyes, she heard what he had to say and nodded swiftly. "My mother made it so that we were the last ones to be inside the City. She, along with her maidens and mine, wait for us. The last of my people that lived here, are leaving as we speak, come my darling." Alyssa then held out her delicate hand, her glassy nails showing the reflections of the lamps.

Eldarion listened to all the words his love had to say, and as she held out her hand to him, he gently took her hand in his and so he followed her to where her mother stood waiting. As they went, he could not leave his eyes from her, the woman which he had fallen in love with surely was beautiful. Her hair flickered gentle in the wind which blew through the tops of trees, and everything around them were magical, as the day they first had met. But now, slowly the magic was being drained from the forest. Cause no longer would the elves whom used to live there stay for long, only a few which followed Alyssa.
As further they went toward the palace, they soon came to a few more marble stairs which lead up the main room of her mother and servants. With graceful steps, they both hurried up and as they came to the entrance, Eldarion was amazed by the beautiful work which the elves had created. It was a large room, like a throne room but slightly different then what he was used to. He knew that his father Aragorn and his friends had also been there, in the days during the war against Sauron. Now Eldarion also was to witness the place his father had seen, and like his father, he too had found love in an elven woman.
Like crystal was the walls made of, and four pillars stretched from the floor to the roof, from the entrance to the throne in the end. On the floor paintings was seen, of the great works which the elves had done in the past. And from the roof hanged the banners of each group of elves that lived in the forest, now it all was being taken down, as they all where to leave for the undying lands.
In the end of the room, stood Syene, the mother of Alyssa. Along with her servants, whom was to take care of her during the great journey. It was now time for Alyssa to say farewell, before even her mother would leave. Surely it would be sad, but it was necessary. The men of the world was to be left alone for themselves, the time of the elves is about to end. Now the remaining elves will mingle with the sort of men, and so after time, the lines of elves will fade away into the line of men.
Proud and gentle did Eldarion stay beside Alyssa, as they both confronted her mother. Slightly Eldarion took the option to bow, but lot the first words be spoken by Alyssa and her mother. Such that he would not interrupt their last moments together, even if they needed time alone, he would give them such.

Alyssa walked with Eldarion to the Throne room where her mother awaited her, This would be the last time that Alyssa was ever going to see her, as she like most of their people was going to the undying lands. Alyssa quickened her pace as she gently let go of Eldarions hand and into her mothers arms, They held each other tight, tears spilling down Alyssa's cheeks just as before. Her mother held her daughter at arms length and smiled as she looked upon her.
"My daughter...You have grown so beautiful. Our time here has ended...I know you will regain your strength in the white city of Gondor..It is the best place for you, You are too young yet to cross the sea, you have so much ahead of you in life, I have forseen it. All I ask is that you smile for me, I will of course be watching from a distance, and as long as your happy my child. Then I will be happy also. What remains of our people will look up to you for keeping so strong. I have never doubted you and you should not doubt yourself either..
Alyssa's tears were once more wiped away and her chin was lifted. Alyssa smiled for her mother, knowing that she was happy gave her courage. Her words were soft, "Naneth...I will live on. I refuse to let our people down, From your great teachings I will live my life to the fullest and I will be happy, for peace shall come one day, when all the dark corners of this earth have been defeated, then I shall see the white clouds and blue sky once more"
Without another word to her, Syene took Alyssa's hand and on her finger she slipped Nenya, the ring of water on Alyssa's finger. "Nenya, belongs to you now my child. Protect it how you will, the life of the elves live within this ring. You know this... Alyssa nodded to her and stood proud with a smile. Syene smiled one last time before kissing Alyssa's forehead. "And now, My daughter, I leave for Valinor. The sea calls me home. I bid you many blessings in life and hope you never see as much pain as I have many a year before... At last she turned to Eldarion.
"The young son of Gondor. I too, give you and the race of men my eternal blessing. This earth was once as pure as the water and peace was felt over the years, Now the fires of the dark have spread and are rapidly spreading...I hope, with whats left of each race will see this earth back to when there was peace, I believe in you Eldarion, son of the great Aragorn and Arwen."
Syene kissed her daughters forehead for the last time and At long last, She mounted her beautiful white horse and began on her final journey through the woods of Lothlorien with her Maidens by her side and the last of the elves of Lorien riding with her, she ventured west towards the grey havens. Alyssa watched as she stood at Eldarions side, as her Mother travelled into the distance.
"I will miss her dearly...The greatest queen on my time..." Alyssa looked up at Eldarion and smiled a little. "And I promised her, I would be happy.."

As Alyssa suddenly went to embrace her mother, Eldarion watched and felt sadness by what happened. After their hug of love, they began to speak and many words was spoken. Curiously Eldarion listened, but was surprised when Syene suddenly gave her ring Nenya to Alyssa, the ring which Galadriel long had carried since its creation. It was a beautiful ring, and it surely fitted the woman he loved, Alyssa. It made her even more amazing, and the fire of love which he carried for her grew even stronger, which could be seen in his eyes as he watched.
But as soon Syene turned to Eldarion, he in return smiled and nodded. What she said was true, and he would do all in his power to cause peace to happen once again. As long had there been wars between countries and people, all whom desired an advantage over others. Already had his father stopped much of the war, together with Eomer the new king of Rohan. But still, there remained many others whom carried on evil in the hidden dark. If his father who now was ill, would leave the throne to him, he would do it all such that peace could continue in the world which his father had created after the war.
"I thank thee for the blessing, Queen of Elves. I will bring peace to the world, together with Alyssa, as my father and mother have done. And I will make evil vanish, such that the world again can become what it once was." He replied with a gentle voice, showing the gratitude of the blessing which Syene gave him. It was also a blessing, from her to him, which allowed Alyssa to marry.
After Eldarion replied the queen, before her great leave, he watched as she and Alyssa took farewell. Then stood remaining with her, as Syene and her servants went down from the palace and onto the ground. Where all elves seemed to leave, whom now Alyssa`s mother would follow on a white horse. It was an amazing sight, seeing the great elves whom once had lived there, now left, one after the another.
Those whom had followed Eldarion was also amazed, cause they stood on ground, seeing them passing through the thick trees, which sprouted from the ground into the high air above. Their they stood near wagons and horses, bringing all the goods which was given, onto the wagons. One home after the another was emptied, and soon after all the lamps which used to light the homes, was now carried along the elves whom went. Thousands of elves was now leaving, and slowly did they began to fade in the distance. Eldarion and Alyssa stood in the palace and watched, looking down as they saw Alyssa`s mother going into the horizon in the far end of the forest.
"Then keep that promise, my love. This is not the end, it is just the beginning. And you might see her again some day, cause she does not die, nor you." Eldarion answered Alyssa, as they both stood above, he holding around her, comforting her as the elves left their homes.

As the last of the elves began to leave, the city grew dark as did the sky, Nightfall was soon to follow. Alyssa looked around at the trees and the city, as the sun began to set giving the city a warm glow for the last time.
"The city is finished, We should leave my darling. Gondor awaits us, it's best we leave while there is still light left...Don't you agree?"
Her tears had dried and her smile still remained. The warm sunset was upon her, warming her face as she looked into the eyes of her beloved. She placed her hand on his that rested on the railing and looked at him. "You are right. This is not the end, This is the beginning of a new future, a new age, I know you will make it happen, You will restore peace to us..I've always believed it..." She looked away from him and at the sun.

As the nightfall had passed and the sun was about to set, Eldarion listened to what Alyssa replied and he nodded. Cause what she said, was something they should do. There was not much left for them to do in Lorien, then but to leave. Now the forest was empty, and now it would remain as a mark of history. Surely it would not be forgotten, but none elves would ever come back to live there. It was a sad thought, but it had to happen.
"I am glad I have you, Alyssa. Together we will bring peace to the world. But I agree, we should leave before the dark again comes upon us. It is better to travel in daylight, then to travel at night." Eldarion said and smiled, as he looked deep into her eyes. Suddenly she turned away to look at the sun, and he knew why, cause she was sad about the elves leaving. Now the only thing they could see in the distance, was the sun and the landscape around them.
Gentle Eldarion held around her, standing behind her as they both looked. "We should leave, I will tell the others that they should be ready for us." He said with a smile, then leaned to kiss her cheek before he left to tell a captain nearby, the orders of leaving the forest Lorien. As that was done, the captain went down the stairs and told the others and soon horses and the wagons was ready for them. They only waited on Alyssa and Eldarion to come.
After the spoken words with the captain, Eldarion went back to Alyssa, but said nothing as he went to where she stood. He could feel her sorrow, but hopefully with time she would manage, as she had promised her mother.

Alyssa watched as Eldarion talked to the captian of the group about them leaving, Again she looked up at what was the great tree city, in her heart she felt little sadness but instead of lowering her head she remembered her mothers words and she smiled, Lifting her hand gently the suns faint rays bounced off Nenya revealing to her its beautiful shine the stones gave off.
Hearing footsteps, Alyssa saw that Eldarion was making his way back up to her, to save him the walk she walked forward herself and took his hands in hers, holding them close against her chest with a smile she spoke to him.
"The time has come. I will leave Lorien with high hopes, The elves will live on in peace, It has always been my royal duty to make my people happy and I know, I know with all my heart that they will be happy in Valinor." She kissed his hands gently then lifted her hand to his cheek and smiled as bright as the melting sun. "There will be no more sorrow, only joy."

Eldarion smiled in return as he looked deep into her eyes, and what he now saw was hope and joy. Cause it seemed she has remembered the words of her mother, to stay happy of what she had left. The slight kiss which she gave as she held his hands, made him adore her even more, cause light and cheerful it was, and forever he knew they would stay together. Great times would now come, not only for them, but also all others whom lived on in the world of Middle Earth, even sorrow would be the start of the joy to come.
"You are right, my dear. Together we will hold onto the light which remains, and let peace come to others as also ourselves." He said, and enjoyed her touch as her hand went across his cheek. It was lovely, but time for them to go had now come. As his own hand touched her cheek, he moved her hand with his and slowly they began to walk down, to all the people whom awaited them.
There they stood ready, with the two white horses of Eldarion and Alyssa. Whom they would ride on, during their journey through the land and all its way to Gondors great city, Minas Tirith, where they now would go on and live together. As they came forward, the people bowed before them, as prince and princess they where. Still Aragorn was king in Gondor, but his life would soon be over, cause a terrible sickness had now taken stroke of his life. In the house of healing he rested, together with his wife Arwen whom watched over him.
As Eldarion and Alyssa now stood before the horses, he turned to her and said. "Let me help you up, such that we can ride together, side by side." With that spoken, he carefully helped Alyssa up on the horse, before he himself went over to his own.

Alyssa took Eldarion's hand and with his help she lifted herself into the saddle then she was given the reins to her horse by one of the Elven guards, The selection of guards were hand chosen by Alyssa and Eldarion, Guards of men chosen by Eldarion and Elven guards chosen by Alyssa.
Alyssa watched as Eldarion sat himself in his own saddle, She smiled towards him then looked forward and pulled her hood over her head then pulled her cloak close to her body, The guards started to light lamps that they would carry as they walked close to the horses, Two elven guards held the tree city's banner and Two of the Men held the white city's banner, each guard was heavily armed in case of any ambushes. The rest of the party was the last of the elves that had lived there, with all their personal belongings. Pushing her horse forward gently, the party set off for the long road ahead.
Occasionally Alyssa looked over at Eldarion, In her mind she pictured her future with him. It would be perfect. She did not look back at the now dark Tree City, although its image was going to be in their hearts forever.
