"Fine, just waiting for the order to play with the weather, and resisting the temptaion to kill him with a lightning bolt." She alughed grimly.

Hew gave her a little frigthend look. He was no fan of magic, it was no often part of a pirates life. He looked up at the sky. "Well the wehter seem fine now. It is still a start. But we migth be needign more wind later," he said. "And I dont think a lightning bolt would kill Rayes, frie him maby. But that would just make him irritated." he laughed.

"Aye, it would more damage to the ship than him." She took his coment seriousely. Those that knew her would have recognised the look of revenge in her eyes. "Maybe a dagger....or poison....or a cutlass..."

What was it whit thees pirate woman? They seemed to be the most dangerus cind. He was getting avaire of the woman. He gave her an inspecting look to see if she was joking, but he coud not see it. "But like you said yesterday, you wobt do mutany against the captain. And her will." he said, "did he do someting to you today?" he aksed because he was so curies.

"Fair point...but still" She tried to shake off her dark mood, but it was returning. She hoped she gt some oders soon, before she killed anyone. "Oh he just treated me like dirt, like some women to grovel at his feet and clamour to be taken to the bedroom. Well i'm not like that, and of course when i do show i have some power, he is surprised, and looks as if this only makes the plaything more desirabel. Well not many have under-restemated or insulted me and lived. I can only hope you're Capt'ns protection lasts longer than my patience dose."

He knew the frustration in her, but he was a calm man. Clearly not like this woman. "Well, manny men think like that," he said, "but not me," he quiqly added. "i have served on this boat a few years now, and I must say I had some problems getting Charley as captain. But that soon changed. I am glad I did not leave back then. God's should know she is maby even bether than her father."
Charley came out of the captains cabin, whit a grim and irritated look. Then she looked up at Shalem, was that jack? She remberd sending the boy up there. He was now waching the deck. Who had made this arangement? "Rayes!" she called, and he came running to her. "Why is Melian washing the deck, I sendt him to the mast?" "It needed washing." he awnsered. "And you could not use one of tha salors laying on deck doing nothing," she asked him raising her voise, giving the men an angry look. "But captain, he was also doing nothing." he tried to explane. Charley was sick of that he did not aprove of Shalem. "You lissen to me! You are not to give new orders whitout asking me. Is that clare?" "aye, capt'n" he muttered. "Goon now you can go stear the wheel. Seens you clearly have nothing bether to do." He walked of.
Charley then walked over to the mast then said: "Can you give us some more wind Shalem? This is going to slow."

"Aye aye Cap'n" she called down grinning. She had heard every word Charley had said, and she chuckeled merrrily. "As a wise man one said "Never stop you're enemy when he is makeing a mistake." (Napolean Bonaparte) Running out along the jib lightly she stood at the end and whisteled into the air, her arms wide as if she whished to embrace the air. The wind steadily grew till her hair whiped about her, cutting her face. It was only when the wind almost pushed her off her precariouse perch that she jumped into the air, grabbed hold of a rope and spun down to the deck; the adrenaline pumping though her body.

"Stay up there!" she called to Jack. "Seens you walked up there your selfe and all." then she turned to Shalem, "you on the other hand can take a breake."

"Sure?" The wind had got into her mind, and she wanted to fly with it, reval in her new power of the sea, the adrenaline urging her on. It was only with great will that she pulled herself back from the brink of that gloriouse maddness weather magic induced. "Yes Cap'n." She began to walk towards the side of the ship, her hair wind'swept, her face cut and her eyes wild; sparkeling with desire and power, her breath short. Suddenly she staggered and clutched a rope. The sky seemed to have taken more out of her than she thought....she cursed quietly. She'd forgotten. The one rule of a Weather Mage. You could control the weather, but it would take you're power. All it wanted was you're power, to take you're soul and use its power; and she'd used to mush this time. Straightening her back, she walked back to her cabin and collapsed back onto her bed, her eyes half closed, the door open.

Charley walked back to her cabin. She was frusturated, where could the tresure be!?! She had been looking, reading, thinking. This was the reason she was so frusturated. Rayes had no more idea than she. It was in moments like this she missed her father. She did not really want to go to gondor. They dd not like pirates there. All that noble people. But it migth be the only way to find out how to get there.
She sat down frustuated in front of he map again.

Shalem drifted into sleep, her dirk falling from her grasp to the floor with a thud. Bt she did not awake as she ussually would. She slept as she did not noramlly, a deep sleep, not the wachful half-sleep that ussually possesed her. So she lay in her cabin, defenceless and unaware to the world.

The next morning Jack came down to her cabin. He saw her sleep a relised how peacful she looked. Not the constantly strong face he had seen her whit earlyer. He watched her for a momet whit a smile, hen decided to wake the sleeping beast. "Good morning sleepy head!" he shouted, "Time to get up. Acually it is quite late. You chould get rid of the habit of sleeping late." he grinned in amusment.

Shalem jumped up a hidden dagger spinging into her hand. "Oh...its you Jack....hello." She suddenly sat down again. "Ahhhhhh my head." She groned. "Damn." She picked up her dirk and walked over to him. "Well i didn't mean to, stupid sea-spirits, they take you're streanth if you try playing with them....Oh well, i'd better explain myself to the Cap'n."

Shalem shrugged off his cynical laugh and made her way to Charley's Cabin. "Cap'n?" she knoked. "Its Shalem."
