Shalem smiled in return. Charley had told her that she needed her near the mast, so she duely ran over and joined the men raising the sail.

The Dark Wave left the docks. And out to the sea. The wether was nice, and it was a good day to be on a boat. Charley watched the crew whit a smile on her face.

Shalem climbed the rigging up to the crows nest, then walked out along the sail jib. She sat down at one end, closed her eyes and began to whistle. After a few moments, the breeze, which had been light up to now, became a brisk wind in the sails. Smieling with satisfaction Shalem slid down a rope and landed on the deck.

She landed in front of rayes, he had been watching her, "You did that?" he asked.

"Now,.. I just," he mumbled. He cough, and then said: "I just thougth you was a fraud, glad you are not." He did not look in to her eyes.

A faint rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance and the sky's began to darken. "Pardon, i do not think i heard you correctly, you thought that i was a....." She bit back on her words and struggled with her self for a minit. "Well i'm not" She said finally, as the the clouds lightened and withdrew to the far west.

He smiled, because he knew she was angry.
Charley came walking up to them, before he could say anything more. "Good job," she said whit a grin.

"Well, that is a plesure to know," she smiled, "Hireing you seems to be one of my smarter desitions."
Then she turned to Rayes, "Is everything as it is suposed to be?" she asked. "Yes capt'n, it is," he said. "Good," she awnsered shortly. "I am glad to be at sea again. Life was getting boring."
She turned back to Shalem, "Is this the first time you are on, well, a real ship?" she asked her.

"I'm insulted Cap'n, i wouldn't call the Mayflower naught but a river raft." She said with a laugh. "No, this is the first time i'v been on a 'real ship' at sea, though the pirate vessels inland are built in a similer fashion."

She smiled: "Well, that's good. But if you are wondering about anything, just ask. We will be glad to help," she said, "wont we Rayes," she added.
"Aye, capt'n," he awnsered shortly.
Charley knew Rayes diddn't like Shalem much. She did not know why, but she did not care. She wonted him to accept her.

"There's nothing cap'n" she said giveing Rayes a nasty grin at Charleys last words and implied meaning. "Accept i wondered if there was anything i could do for you?"
