Here, on the shores of a great lake. The very first elves had been born. Some had remained there even while the others were gone. It was these elves, called Avari by the others, that Galdor and his compainions had come to meet. Galdor had made a small camp near the main Avari settlement where if any of the Avari so wished they could come and learn of the light of Valinor.

After many efforts to convunce the Avari most of Glador's elves returned to Lindon. Galdor himself remained to ensure that if any Avari was to have second thoughts he would be able to find his way to Lindon.
