Alatáriël watched Ellroher's reaction and laughed again, but harder than previously. She thought it if differrent than he did. She couldn't help but picture him, running around with his little girls and giving them piggyback rides. She smiled at the thought. "And you would aim to drive me to madness with two sons," Alatáriël said. "But we do not have the power to choose the gender of our children, only the Valar can decide." The way Ellroher spoke, he seemed so certain that they would have a twins. Although the chances were very likely, it was also possible that it could skip. Alatáriël smiled back at her husband and plaid with a few loose straids of his hair. Her eyes looked up and she replied, "No, I don't think you have, I would have rememebered."

Ellroher smiled as his wife ran her fingers through his hair. He knowtest that she seemed to laught harder at the thought of them having twin daughters than anything else. He thought for a moment of the beauty of two young girls, running through the halls of Rivendell, singing and laughing. How much would Rivendell brighten if the sound of elflings was heard again. Ellroher brought his mind back to the pressent and raised an eyebrow at his wife. "I haven't? Well then I need to! Alatariel, I love being married to you." He gave her a quick kiss and then repeated, "Alatariel, I love being married to you." Again, he kissed her quickly and repeated, "Alatariel, I love you. No matter what happens, I love being married to you and wouldn't have things any other way."

"You are thinking about it, are you not?" Alatáriël asked grinning. She saw that Ellroher was caught up in his thoughts once again. For a moment, Alatáriël caught herself imaging a son and Ellroher teaching him how to shoot a bow. She did wonder if they would be alright with the fact there would be no other elflings to play with. She questioned the possibility of them being a little lonely. Alatáriël shook her head and smiled. She knew full well that he did and said it often. She could never tire from hearing it, he loved her that much. But she knew he did even if he didn't tell her everyday for the Elven bond was very powerful and nothing could break it. Alatáriël smiled once again and lightly wrapped her arms around her husband and hugged. "Neither would I, Ellroher," she said. "I would have it no other way. I love you."

Ellroher rolled his eyes. But Alatariel's knowing grin made him laugh. "Yes. I was thinking about the possibility, the slight possibility!" He added quickly. "That we might be cursed, Blest!" He corrected himself. "With two daughters." He had to smile at the thought though. Two little girls, trying to be like their mother and all lady like. Then as soon as their mother turned her back, beging him to carry them on his back like a horsie. And slaying him with sticks. Ellroher smiled to himself. Words could not truly describe how much he loved Alatariel. And he really didn't have to tell her. She knew. Just as he knew how much she loved him.

Alatáriël gave Ellroher a playful shove at the word 'cursed', actually getting tired of hearing. That mother-in-law of hers. She tried not to break a smile over it but it came anyway. So much talk of twins, she thought. She honestly preferred and hoped for just a single child, but twins were going to be more likely. But it would be a ways from now she thought, so she was not going to think about it too much, but it was still common to think about where she was in her years now. There was much on her mind already. Alatáriël rested her hand in her chin and looked at Ellroher. She just looked at him, saying nothing at all. Shortly after, her eyes looked up and noticed that the sun was beginning to set. "It is almost sunset, my love," she said and smiled.

Ellroher looked at the sun as it began to sink in the sky. Suddenly an idea came to him and he sat up grining. "I think I know the best way to finish off this day." He stood up and said, "You wait here, I'll be right back." With that, Ellroher ran off.
The sun had started to hide behind the hills when Ellroher returned. It had taken him a little longer than he had wanted, but he had everything. In one hand he carried a covered basket and in the other a case of some sorts. Setting the basket on the ground before him, he opened it and said, "I didn't think a full meal would be nessisary, so I just grabed the bacics. Bread, honey, a couple peices of fruit ect. And, something special." Ellroher helded up a small bottle and two wine glasses. "This is wine is from Rhun. A gift from the her Queen. It is rumured to be the most potent wine in Middle-Earth. I've been saving it for a special occation." He pored a little into the two glasses and handed one to Alatariel. "Not too much now." He warned. "I've tryed it before and two full glasses put me on my butt."

Alatáriël watched as Ellroher ran off and wondered where he was going and what he was planning. She sat and waited. It wasn't long before he had returned with a basket in hand and she knew what was coming and she smiled. Alatáriël eyed the unfamiliar bottle of wine and wondered what ties Ellroher had with Rhûn. They were no allie or enemy to Imladris. "Oh? And would the special occasion be today?" she asked with a smile. She took the glass from Ellroher and studied the wine inside it. Alatáriël thought it's scent was a little strong. She took a small sip and tried not to make a face. Indeed it was strong like her husband had warned and the strongest wine she ever tasted.

Ellroher smiled, "Everyday I get to spend with you would qualify as a special occasion." He took a small sip from his own glass. The liquid ran down his throught smothly, but with kick. Ellroher took a peice of bread out of the basket and pored honey over it. But the small case he had also brought he kept off to the side, as if saving it's contence for later. "That is a surprise for later." Ellroher said as he took an apple out of the basket and bite into it. He tryed not to look driectly at Alatariel. Because if he did, then it's secret would be reveiled. So he tryed to occupy himself with the food untill they finished eating.

Alatáriël smiled back and said, "Well, I am honored, my love." Alatáriël reached into the basket and pulled out a piece of bread and nibbled on it. She glanced at the case that Ellroher had brought along with the basket and she wondered what it could be. It was a surprise obviously enough because he had said it. Her husband had surprises for her here and there and despite the fact she could always suspect when one was coming, she never knew what the surprise contained. Alatáriël lowered her head and tilted it off to the side trying to meet Ellroher's eyes, wondering why he wasn't looking directly at her.

Ellroher could not help but look at Alatariel. "No. Don't give me any kind of look. You give me any kind of puppy eyes I'll fall apart and spoil the surprise." Ellroher smiled as he finished eating his bread and honey and took another small sip of his wine. Though the sun had gone down, the sky was painted with it's light. It was going to be a beautifull eavening. Ellroher layed back agaist a tree and pulled out his pipe. Though Alatariel had never said that she disliked it, she never said that she did like his smoking. Since they had been married, Ellroher had smoked less, and always while she was buisy elsewhere. But this was too perfict a time for a smoke, so, Ellroher lit his pipe and after a few quick puffs was blowing smoke rings into the air. "Oh, I almost forgot." said Ellroher as he reached down in the basket to grab something. "I brought your flute, Alatariel. I thought you'd might like to play some. I know I always enjoy it when you play." he added as held her flute towards her.

Alatáriël rolled her eyes. "I do not give puppy eyed looks, love," she said. "I was merely wondering why you were not looking at me directly, it's not like you." Alatáriël finished off her piece of bread and laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky, watching as it changed colors. She glanced over as Ellroher pulled out his pipe. At times, she really wished he wouldn't smoke. She didn't really like it and it was very unelf-like. She turned her head back to the sky, leaving him to smoke. It was only when he spoke she looked back and him and saw that he held her flute in his hand. She sat and carefully took it from him. It had been a while since she had played it. Alatáriël smiled as she looked over the instrument. Even today, she still did not know what brought her to play the flute to begin with.

Ellroher smiled as Alatariel began to play. He blew another smoke ring it the air and listend to the sweet sounds of her flute. He had always loved her playing. In the past, Ellroher had often wished that he could play with her. Just the two of them, playing music together instead of just her. Ellroher smiled to himself as he knocked out his pipe and put it away. He reached for the other case he had brought and opened it so Alatariel couldn't see what was inside. Ellroher waited untill she was about halfway into her song before he picked up an insterment of his own.
Before he had ran away from home, his mother had made him learn who to play the violen. But Ellroher hated the insterment. It wasn't untill he became friends with Goldwine, King of Rohan that he began to play a simaler insterment, the fiddle. After the death of Goldwine, Ellroher didn't have heart to play any more. Not untill he met Alatariel and started wishing that he could play with her. It was then that he found his old fiddle and began to practice it in secret.
After a few quick moments of tuning, Ellroher began to play along with her. A few of his notes were flat, but he kept up pretty well. He stole a quick glance at the shock on his wife's face. He just smiled and played all the more. Soon he was making fewer mistakes as tuned out everything else around him and focused on the music alone.

Alatáriël closed her eyes as she began to play her flute, closing out everything around her. She found it much easier to concentrate when she closed out the world. Having done so, she had no idea what Ellroher pulled an item of the case he had brought with him. Alatáriël quickly forgot about it when she started playing.
It wasn't until she heard the sound of another musical instrument in the air, she suddenly stopped playing and eyed Ellroher with surprise, seeing a fiddle in his hands. Never, did she know that her husband played any kind of musical instrument. Although a skill in music was very common among the Elves, she just never imagined Ellroher with that kind of skill. Finally, she smiled and continued to play along with him.
When they had finished playing, Alatáriël reached over and wrapped her arms around Ellroher, hugging him. Although she was very surprised, she was also quite happy.

Ellroher smiled as he finished playing. A smile that grew wider when his wife suddenly reached over and hugged him. "And you thought your husband was only skilled with swords." He teased as he wrapped an arm around her and hugged her back. "This fiddle was a gift from Goldwine, king of Rohan. I quit playing it because it reminded me of his death. But I should have kept playing it to remember the long evenings we spent together on the steps of Edoras and played." Ellroher remained quite for a moment, remembering his old friend. He gave Alatariel a quick kiss on the forhead and said, "Now my dear, if the shock of seeing me play has not stunded you compleatly, perhaps you would like to play another song?"

Alatáriël laughed lightly. "Stunned indeed," she said. "To be perfectly honest with you Ellroher, I did pretty much think that that was your only skill. The last thing I imagined was you as a fiddler, or playing any kind instrument for that matter." She never took notice of any other skill he could have had, only because he never really shoved he had any either. She looked over at the fiddle and studied it briefly and then said, "It can be difficult to bring yourself to continue on with something that reminds you of someone you had lost." It had been a few hundred years since Goldwine was king. Alatáriël wondered how long her husband went without playing. "What brought you to play your fiddle again?" she asked.
