There are many small Fortresses, known as Outposts on the borders of Angmar and these are garrissoned with fair-faced but foul-minded and corrupted men. The regular patrols around the border prevent most foreigners from entering without permission, and while some get past the patrols, it is unheard of for any of them to return.
Most of these Outposts are either surrounded by a moat with a stationary bridge over, or in a few cases, are in the mountains, surrounded by rocky ledges with only one or two paths to the top, mostly only wide enough for about four men to walk side-by-side along them.
