I'm not a magicianShe replied, guessing he could also read her mind. She turned to Melain and gave him a warm smile, hideing her fear. "I'm going to show this stowaway round the ship. I'l see you later." she grinned, before walking out on deck.
Tony approched Melain, leaveing a now calmer Tsumalia. "Well done, you fight well." he said slightly apoligetically.

Rayes looked up on the captain, "Agree with Shalem? No, I must confess that I don't most of the time." He said, he figured that when first was going to answer truthfully he might as well tell him.

"Why, because she's a woman, beacuse she's a witch, beacuse she's a gypsie?" He grinned "Or beacuse she's an arrogant bit-ch who enjoys annoying you." He gave Rayes a conspirtale wink. "She was well known for it. She's self destructive, chooses the path that she knows will end badly. I expect she's told you she was the greatest captain inland; its true. But what i expect she didn't tell you is that her mate mutineyd beacuse she'd ticked him off so much, the crew were pursaded by his promises of mouney." He took a long drought from his flagon. "She's one messed up lass."

"Becuase your Melain, the sea-Pirate, apprentice to Shalem, blssed by the Head Shaman. I thought that if i beat you then maybe the Cap'n would premote me sooner." He replied hotly but then sighed "Seems i'l have to wait a bit longer." He looked up at Melain hopefully. "Unless you'd well, give me a few tips?"

Hudsen carried on, completly unaware that Shalem would probebly kill him if she knew what she was telling her 'enemy'. "I'm not saying she'l be like that when it comes to whats best for the crew, or for her Cap'n now i suppose, but in her personal life; she'll sabotage it."

"Then they must be mighty men upon the Wave. Men of bravery and houner, if you say you are the least of them, unless they havn't given you the rank you deseve." Tsumalia piped up from behind them suddenly.
"Shut up Tsu, go play with the kids" replied Tony harshly, he waited till she was gone. "She's right though."
Hudsen laughed dryly, but said nothing more.

Melian laughed now, "Bravery and honor! They are all just pirates, and I guess that is all I can ever be. I will never be as good as Charley tho, or Shalem for that matter. But," he became silent a moment, "she seems to be a lot more that I thought she was."
Rayes understood that he could not get more information out of Hudsen. So he fell silent and thought of what to do with the information he had gotten.

"I supose she's made a new life for herself at sea." Tony replied museingly. "I suppose here we see her as a bit of a hero; even though she's not really." He saw how this could be confuseing and hurried to explain. "Amoung the gypsies there are many Weather-workers and Witches. But Shalem's acnoledged to be the greatest liveing. She knows all the spirits of the air, and dosn't fight them as others do, simply asks them and they obay. Women arn't usually captains, but she led her ship to become one of the richest and gratest the Tribes seen." he smiled "On the other hand everyone knows about the mistakes she's made and belive me when it comes to annoying just the people she shouldn't Shalem is the one for it. But thats just increased her standing. Most of the Tribes admire her, but many would like to see her dead." He grinned "So Mr Pirate who cares nothing for bravery and houner, what about teaching me to fight like you?"
Hudsen set down his now empty flagon. "Well Rayes, why don't you tell me about your trip. Shalem never said what a load of pirates were doing going inland?"

Rayes looked at him, and decided not to tell the truth this time. Or at least not the whole. "Just following orders. We need to get somewhere to meet someone. And not to be rood, but I believe the rest of it is our own business."
Melian listened interested to the things Tony had to say to Shalem. He understood more now.
"If you dare!" he said standing up. "I have never thought anything to anyone before, but why don't we just practice together and I see what tips I can give you, aye?" He grinned. Then he made his voice sound like a high class snob and said: "And if you would care to share your wisdom on the subject, I would be most enchanted." Then he picked up a stick from the floor.

Tony laughed and grabbed another stick and replied in the commenest voice he knew "Ooch aye mister bat neer dahn ere. I don neer wahn te ouder rats see'n" and he ran out on to the top deck.
(Alright sir, but not down here. I don't wish the other boys to see and learn your tricks.)
"Please y'self then." Hudsen said with a slight frown "But i should like to know who this person is, i might know them?"

Rayes thought for a moment. What harm could it do? "You are right, you might. Well, we are visiting dwarfs."
