Eight months had passed since the war with Mordor and Harad had ended, and seven and a half months since Eowyn had known for sure that she was with child. It was a wonderful, and yet exhausting and painful time. Besides the continuing feeling of sickness, she once had broken down in pain, almost feared she had lost her child, although afterwards it turned out the baby just had kicked her bladder and stomach with immense strength.
In the meantime, Eowyn, with the help of Faramir, had built a room near to their own, and arranged many different furnitures, as cupboards and wardrobes for the child's clothes, and a cradle, and many other items. Nurses were in Eowyn's presence all the time, as it soon could come to the time of birth, so that Eowyn would not need to endure this procedure alone. THey could persuade those nurses to allow Faramir to stay with Eowyn as well during the birth, assisting them, until the last few minutes of delivery, no man was allowed to be in the room at this time.
Eowyn was sitting in her room now, in a soft chair, day-dreaming. Her stomach has grown so big now that she had difficulties with seeing her feet anymore. She was told to rest by the nurses, now that the last month of her pregnancy had arrived, rest as often as possible, sitting, lying, as less stress as possible. So, the last days she mostly had spent with reading, or even knitting cute little baby clothes. Now although, she suddenly was pulled out of her dreams by a sudden pain in her lower stomach. It had began as low, hard to recognize pain, and grew stronger and stronger, until it disappeared as if it had never been there. Eowyn sat up, laying a hand onto her stomach, and called out "Faramir?" hoping that he would hear her, at least the nurses hear her and come to aid her.

Faramir was in the palace talking with some captains as the voice of Eowyn could be heard in the distance, it came from their room were she had been relaxing. Quick as possible he knew what was to happened as he had tried to be prepared for this in a good time by now, swiftly he left his captains and started running to wards the room as the nurses entered before him. If she was to give birth now there would be lots for them to do, she would need the help from the healers and if she needed it Faramir would be there.
"My love, what is it? Is it the child?"Faramir spoke out in great rush as he went over, kneeling down in front of her as she took her one hand and laid the other upon her stomach. Seeing she was in pain and could see blood started gathering below her chair that ran down her feet's. The nurses carefully helped her up to get her onto the bed were she would be able to give birth to the new child, Faramir was worried and excited as this went on but kept holding his wife hands all the way until he would get ordered to leave the room.

Often had Eowyn trained for this situation, but it turned out to be quite different in reality. She was utterly relieved to see Faramir rushing into the room along with several nurses. Carefully, they picked her up from the chair she was sitting on, which was a little covered with blood that ran down her legs and that Eowyn had not yet noticed. Faramir was holding her hand when the pain ened again, for a short while, the first wave of contractions seemed to be overcome. She could lean on Faramir and another nurse who carried her over to the bed where two other nurses already laid many sheets of linens and covers so that the blood would never reach the bed linens, pillows and sheets itself. Eowyn had to smile of Faramir's words, even although she was afraid of what was going to happen now, how hurtful it would be, but as well she was happy, soon there would be their own little baby to take care of. "Soon we'll be a mom and dad." she said, still smiling, before the next contraction began.

She was right in the words she spoke as she were taken care of at the bed they had laid her on, they were going to be parents and the child would soon be born. Hopefully everything would turn out well and if something would happen he would be there to support, he knew this might turn into great pain for her but still he wished to help. Smiling back at her he watched but were worried on what would happen, as the nurses started checking his wife if she were alright he stood steady and close, holding her hand tight in his. Blood could be seen on her white dress but gladly nothing more had flown out as her contraction had stopped, not long after she had spoken he responded."Yes your right, not long now till we are parents."He said smiling as he rested his one hand upon her stomach, feeling the movements of the child inside getting more stressing. Sonly after the contraction started again, as it did the nurses started helping the best way they could.

Eowyn nodded as answer, she did not want to answer, the contractions almost took her ability to speak, they became more and more powerful. The nurses helped her where they only could, carefully cleaning her face to refresh her as well as wiping off the sweat. She felt each of the child's movements in her stomach, and although in the last months she was proud of being able to feel it, it now hurt her. She lost much blood during these contractions, and they were getting worse and with shorter pauses in between.

As Eowyn were in alot of pain he still held onto her hand, watching her worried as he wanted to help more but couldn't. After some time had passed and her contractions had turned out to be worse they told him to leave the room, he was not allowed to be there under the birth and therefore had to wait outside till it was done, they would call for him when it was time. She was now soon ready to give birth, it was just a matter of minutes before the child arrived and the nurses did everything in their power to make everything go well for her and the new born. It was an interesting moment for all of them and it made also the citizens of Ithilien wonder what would turn out, they were all hoping for the lovely couple to get a child so the throne could get an heir but still waited patient outside the palace to get the news of what had happened.
Back and forth Faramir went outside the door, worried and nervous of what was going on inside. Screams could be heard and he could hear the voices of the nurse doing their best to prevent the blood from flooding as the birth was taking place, the captains and the servants that was not allowed to enter stood outside waiting with him, trying to keep him away from the worriedness he kept within him.

Inside the room, Eowyn was missing Faramir's presence, he had given her strength and trust in herself that she would be able to endure this pain and that she would be a good mother, that she would be ready for this step. Now it was up to the nurses to help her through this, and they did their best to make her overcome the pain of the contractions. Eowyn looked up to the ceiling, breathing in and out deeply, almos tas if she would be able to breathe away the pain, until she almost felt as if torn apart, and new it would not be for long now anymore, soon their baby would be born. For one last time she held her breath and pressed before she heard a cry, and the nurses smiled relieved and at last the tension was broken. They swiftly, but carefully, cleaned the child and wrapped it in soft cloths before laying it in Eowyn's arms, and calling for Faramir to enter again. "It is a boy. Congratulations, my lord and lady." the head of the nurses said, then quietly left to leave the parents to themselves. Eowyn looked up to Faramir, smiling, it was an undescribable moment, holding their child in her hands for the first time.

After a long time of waiting in the palace hall, Faramir finally were allowed to enter the room were the birth of his new child had taken place. He was worried but hoped everything had gone good as he entered, curiously he stepped in and saw his wife at bed. There she sat, holding their child within her arms as it was covered with blankets fitted for the new born. Happily he smiled as he went closer to get a better view of them both, it was a great moment and it was good to see it had turned alright. The captains, friends and other servants had left to be alone and still some of them were standing outside waiting to see the child, people had gathered outside the palace and waited to get a view of the new child.
"You made it, our child is born and its a boy."Faramir said smiling as he turned looking back at his wife Eowyn, it was a beautiful sight to see her holding their child but at the same time knew their would be alot of changes and challenges for them to handle. As long they were together they could manage everything, the moment they now shared was sure to be remembered by them both forever as they lived. Slowly he leaned down to kiss her head but sonly after kissed their child`s head, showing them how much he loved them both as they now were a big part of his life.

Eowyn couldn'T stop smiling, although she was terribly exhausted. She looked down to the child in her arms, and was just taken by love and happiness in this moment. For her, there did not exist a more beautiful baby, and his first movements, rirst cries, the first moment he opened his eyes her heart already flew toward him. She knew, it was a great responsibility she and Faramir had taken over, but she was also sure that they would be able to manage this new task, raising their child, or maybe the little boy in her arms would get siblings as well, she did not know. For the moment, she felt as happy as she could be, with Faramir around and the 'product' of their love in her hands. Life seemed to be just perfect. "Do you want to hold him?" she asked Faramir, carefully raising the child up to him so that he would be able to hold his son the first time. Proud parents they were, and Eowyn knew, this was one of the happiest moments in her life. But she also felt how tired she was.

"I gladly would like to."Faramir answered in return before he took their child into his own hands, holding it carefully and close as he was happy for the miracle that had happened. He could not been more prouder of his wife nor about the child, it was one of the best moments that had happened for long. The past had mostly been about wars and suffering, now as the war of the ring was over there was a possibility for the people to rest and start a life like it should be even their still was evil raising.
Gently Faramir looked down at the child he was holding but then also turned quickly to see how his wife were doing, he could see she were tired and it would be good for her to rest now. The people outside who stood outside the palace was crying out as they wanted to see the child, it drawed his attention quite easily but before he stepped to wards the balcony to show his son he would ask Eowyn for permission."What do you think? should I show the people of Ithilien the new child of ours?."

Eowyn looked up to Faramir, nodding slightley. "Yes, I believe our people wish to know what happened, if the child is healthy and if you at last would have an heir." Eowyn said smiling. She would remain lying, her body felt so tired. She had known that a birth was tireing, but she had not expected this. On one hand she wanted to stay awake to spend as much time as possible with her husband and her new born child, on the other one her eye lids fell shut all the time. "But be careful, love, don't stay out to long, he isn't used to it yet, and the people will have lots of opportunities to see him. We still need to think of a name for our little boy here." She said.

Faramir nodded gladly back to his wife as she had finished speaking, he would be careful and he would take care of the child if she would turn to sleep. It was easy to see she was tired and it was understandable, she had been threw a tough moment which had taken lots of energy from her but surely it had made a great miracle come true. Gently he picked up their child she held within her arms but before he would turn away and show the others, he slowly leaned down to kiss her lips softly, wanting to show her how much he meant for him.
As that was done he gracefully started walking to wards the door that lead to the balcony with the child, the people of Ithlien, both men and elves but also some dwarf's that Gimli had brought stood waiting to see the new child who was born. The day was a shiny day, the sun could not be clearer as it stood high up onto the sky and covered the woods with light threw branches but also open fields were animals and humans were living. Early at the day the child had been born and now was the time for the parents to show the new heir tot he throne of Ithilien, the new prince. At the balcony the doors opened and out stepped Faramir, holding the child as the people outside cheered of joy to see the cute child.
(should we skip some years now then?)
