Eowyn rode up, at last into the green woods of Ithilien, with Faramir by her side and their warriors behind. They came home from the long lasting battle at the Morannon against Mordor and its allies. Faramir has been wounded on his chest, severe it seemed, although right now he was riding at her side, not showing much of his pain. But Eowyn could feel he was in deep pain and knew they had to take some rest from riding soon, she then would look after him and try and take care of his wound.
She herself had one deep wound on her right arm where a sharp ax had slashed down on her, cutting through her chain male. The chains were still intact, although had been pressed deep into her flesh. It hardly could be seen by anyone, although the white cloth she was wearing beneath the chain male was slowly turning red by her blood. But she ignored the pain as well, it was not too worse, and she still could use her arm, at least to ride. She would take care of this wound later on.
Something else was worrying her. For many days now she felt a horrible sickness in the morning, she often threw up the food she ate, and felt often weary, a strange heaviness in her womb actually it was. This started in the middle of battle, and continued. Long has she pondered what this could be, what would be the cause of this. There was only one explanation for her, she was not completely sure yet, but... what else could it be? All seemed to point into this direction, she was pregnant. Faramir and she had so wished for a child, and at last it seemed their wished had come true. She only wondered how to tell her husband, once she would be sure perhaps.

As Faramir was riding on the side of his wife, he sat upstraight and calm, he did not like showing the pain he was in. A sword has cut him, sliced through his chainmale and pierced his chest. It was hardly seen from the outside, but he was heavily bleeding in his interior. He was in some sort of frenzy in this moment, could not feel the pain but the world was spinning and he felt weak. He looked over to his wife Eowyn, and slowly all his senses seemed to fade, his reaction became slower and slower, and he slipped off the saddle sidewards. He hard hit the ground as he fell, and passed out instantly, all the world around him turning black as he now was lying on his side. Now at last all the blood could be seen that he was losing, building a small pool of blood around the place his chest laid. But he did not notice any of this anymore.

Eowyn watched horrified when Faramir slipped down off his horse and landed hard on the ground. She instantly shouted 'Halt' so that no one of their soldiers would ride on, and it would become too crowded around this place, and maybe even a horse could hurt Faramir even more. She then jumped off her own horse and ran over to Faramir, kneeling down at his side. "Faramir! Speak to me, my love." she told him, but noticed that he could not hear her. She carefully laid him from his side onto his back, and put one of her hand onto his forehead, to keep him calm and tell him unconsciously that she was with him and cared for him. She then brought her ear over his nose to hear if he was breathing, while watching his chest, if it still was bleeding, if it was heaving and so breathing. She felt his breath on her cheek, then sat up and shouted "I need help!" to the soldiers around, although they already tried to help her the best they knew to. Together with one of the soldiers, she carefully got Faramir out of his chainmale and armoury that was too heavy to try to heal him. Eowyn was one of the best healers in Ithilien, having an own garden in Emyn Arnen with her own herbs and flowers. She was trained to heal wounds and sicknesses after her wedding, and now could use them on her own husband. The wound on his chest seemed to be severe, deep and bleeding, but at least his lungs were not harmed for sure, so much she could tell at this moment.

Faramir had hitted the ground hard as he had fallen of his horse, his wounds were incredible painful as he laid there at the moment. It was deep and bloody who had opened even more then before, his sight was getting blurry as he laid there and wanted to get up but couldn't. Sonly his wife Eowyn dismounted her horse and came over running, it made him a bit calm but still was hard to keep everything normal as blood ran out of his body. It was not good and he hoped this was not the end for him, at least he had Eowyn there to help him and he knew she would do a good job to heal him. When she leaned down to check on things he just layed still an could not move by himself, Eowyn lifted him over at his back as he waited for what else to happen. Slowly he tried to speak but failed and ended up coughing blood, it was horrible and he was worried.

Eowyn thought what best would be to help her husband, she did not want to see him suffer. At last she made up her mind. "It is not far to Emyn Arnen now, to our home. There he will have better treatment that we could provide here for him." she told the soldiers who stood around, feeling helpless. "Help me bringing him to the castle, I need to strong tree trungs for that, as well a few linens, furs and blankets." she said, instantly a couple of soldiers went off to fullfill her wishes. Further, Eowyn ordered to bind those two wooden planks on one end to the saddle of one horse, the other ends fixed to each sides of the saddle of another horse. Out of the furs, linens and blankets, they fixed a stretcher out of it. Carefully, they lifted Faramir onto it, covering him with many warm blankets and so moving on to the castle of Emyn Arnen as quick as possible with Faramir's injury.

In deep pain Faramir laid on the ground as the blood rushed threw out his body, the more hurtful it became the more weakened he got and sonly the vision of people around him started fading away. The pain was about to make him unconscious but still he held onto the surrounds around him to keep him awake, the voice of Eowyn was easily heard among the others as she was a woman and his wife. She seemed to have most of things under control but was she able to contain him awake from the consciousness, as many things went on around him he only could stay silent and hold back the pain which was horrible.
surprisingly he got lifted up by a few and lifted down to a couple of brunches sticked together carried by horses, this surely was something made for him to get back home and in safety. He was pleased with the help he got but knew that his wife Eowyn would do everything to keep him alive, without her he would be nothing.

The soldiers soon were finished with the tasks Eowyn has set upon them, and carefully heaved Faramir onto the stretcher. Eowyn stayed near her husband all the time, following him, walking beside the stretcher as the soldiers rode on, home to Emyn Arnen. She hoped it was the right decision to take him home withough taking care and making definitely sure he would survive. Faramir was carried just high enough for her to easily reach over and holding his hand, as well as checking his wounds. "All will be well again, my love." she spoke quietly while she walked, she rather wanted to be near with him than being on top of a horse but would not be able to help her husband.

Soon the troups arrived in the fortress in Emyn Arnen, messangers already had prepared the people there for their arriving as well as Faramir's wounds. Women came, hurrying out of the Healing Houses, some immediately caring for Faramir, carrying him inside to tend to him, the others caring for hurt soldiers, one as well coming for Eowyn, she needed to be checked. Although, she preferred to stay with Faramir and pretended to be just fine, that nothing was wrong. She stayed at his side while the nurses took off Faramir's last armour to clean and bind his wounds.

Faramir was in deep pain as the others tried to help him the best they could, a long road it was for them to take from the position they had been but with the help of the brunches and horses they were able to get him home safe. As he had laid there silently and without moving he only had heard and almost seen everything that was happening, Eowyn who cared for him was close and kept an eye on him. It was a good feeling having someone he knew and loved were around, it helped him stay awake but still the pain was painful.
When they finally arrived the Valley close to Amyn Arnen people started gathering around them, to see their wounded leader and friend. Many bursted out in chock at the news of him coming home deadly wounded, it was not expected and so many rumor's spread out fast. Passing the gate to the fortress was visible as they went threw and Faramir looked up, stones of the wall could be seen and also rooftops along as they went. Gently they picked him up and brought up inside, the house of healing in Ithilien was sat ready for him to be taken care of. As the armor and cloths was being taken of to clean the wounds better he could see Eowyn standing close by, following in what was happening. A short smile appeared on his face as he knew they took care of him but surprisingly started fainting away, the sight was getting blurry and soon he would end in dream land.

Eowyn saw Faramir's eyes were fluttering, he was not unconscious but could see his surroundings. She smiled at him and and stroke over his face gently, trying to make sure he could see her and know she was there for him and would tae care nothing would happen to him. She noticed how he slowly fainted again, probably this was good because then he would not have to suffer from pain anymore. She continued looking at him for a few more momenty, before she looked up to one of the care taking women and said "I... I was wounded on my shoulder, could you have a look at it?" she asked, moving over to a bed standing next to Faramir's, so that she still would be around him but could get rest herself. It was not only her wound, but the exhaustion of the last few days as well as her pregnancy of that she had not told anyone yet, made her feel weak and dizzy, as well as a little sick, lying and resting was what she needed now.

The last thing Faramir saw before finally fainting to sleep was Eowyn who got taken care of by the nurses in the house of healing, she herself was wounded and needed care as much as himself. Pain had been going on more and more ever since he had fallen of his horse and it had caused him troubles, it had caused him to faint and now he was unable to be awake. As he were unconscious by the pain the nurses and his wife took care of him, helping him heal and to get better.
Lots had happened in the battle of the past and many had been wounded, not only Faramir was hurt but also some of the soldiers. Most of them went to the house of healing in Ithilien to be handled but many could not be saved, alot of great warriors had fallen on the fields Dagorlad and most of them never saw their home again. The families of those who where dead sorrowed but those that found their men alive was fulfilled with happiness and hope.

***************************************************************
Eowyn had fallen asleep after being treated by the healing women. They have taken off her clothes and put her into a clean, white, long shirt that almost seemed like a dress, this made it easier to take care of her wound. They cleaned it and had to pull out a small piece of metal, that had been split of the arrow that had pierced her. After washing it with water and herbs, they sewed it together so that it would perfectly heal again. This was painful for Eowyn, but she knew worse, and knew that her husband probably had to endure far worse pain. Through this pain, she fainted and slowly fell deep asleep as the herbs began to calm her pain down. Now that she was awake, she slowly opened her eyes, trying to observe what has happened, where she was. She turned to look over to Faramir, but saw he still was asleep, and right in this moment a nurse went over to her, checking her. "You're awake, my lady." she said, "You have slept long! I have good news for you, your shoulder should mend within the next few days. And... another happy news, although you maybe have thought so already..." she stopped for one second, before leaning closer and saying with a smile "You are with child, my lady." Eowyn smiled when she heard this news, she already had supposed that she was pregnant, she had thought so since the end of battle, but was not sure yet. Now that there was the proof for her guess, it made her incredibly happy and relieved, Faramir and Eowyn had tried for some time now already to get a child, now at last it had worked. She wished she could run over to Faramir and tell him now, but neither she felt strong enough to get up, nor was Faramir awake to realize what just has happened.

For hours Faramir was unconscious but after some time he woke up, the sight of life in front of him was blurry but sonly faded back into normal. As he scanned the area around and could see many wounded soldiers being taken care of, he also could see his wife Eowyn standing close by but at the bed talking to another nurse. He then though about standing up but was held back to rest which he did not really want, ignoring what he was told he stood up and went carefully over to where she was laying. But as he went he suddenly fell down to the floor by the wounds he still had, they were not fully healed and needed rest as the people told him to do.
Surprisingly he looked around at the floor were he had fallen onto his knees but looked up, to wards Eowyn and saw she had noticed him. He could appreciate some help but mostly wanted to get up himself, he tried but failed and with strong will he wanted to be with her even he couldn't.

"Faramir!" Eowyn blurted out and sat up in shock, she had not noticed Faramir waking up and standing up, she only got to recognize him when he fell onto the floor between hers and Faramir's bed. The nurse instantly twirled around to help him up, but didn't manage alone, and no other woman was around to help. Eowyn got out of her own bed now as quick as she could, although she still felt a little dizzy, and tried to heave her husband back up to his bed so that he would lay down. "What are you doing, love?" she asked, lovingly, but concerned. At last, she and the woman brought him back into bed, she immediately began to check him again, if any of his wounds would have broken up again by the fall. Eowyn on the contrary sat on the edge of his bed, still feeling weak now, holding his hand. "We are back home, safely." she told him, although supposing he already knew. She did not want to speak of anything important, as their child, while the nurse still was present, she wanted a more special occasion to do so.

The fall that had happened Faramir was causing great pain as he tried standing up and walk, something that was impossible for him to do and therefore needed help. Rushing over a nurse came along with Eowyn, they both tried to get him on bed but as he heard his wife speak he gently answered with a whispering voice."I were only trying to reach you."He said smiling and then finally were lifted onto the bed were he got checked for open wounds, gently he held onto Eowyn`s hand as he watched her.
It was nice having her close and seeing her in good shape made him feel well, he knew as long she was there he would be safe but something was worrying him about her look. She did not look well for some reason and could easily see blood marks at her shoulder, she was wounded and needed help as well. Scared he told the nurse to help her as well but then sonly turned back looking at his wife, answering her words with a nod.

Eowyn smiled down at Faramir while holding his hand, she could easily see that he was worried about her as well when he noticed the blood on her shirt. She answered instead of the nurse "No, don't worry, there's no need to. My wound has already been treated, I will be just fine." she said, and added "They told me that soon you will be healthy again as well, up to take walks with me." she said, and felt a light dizzyness returning to her. She did not want to show Faramir that she was not completely well, and so first remained sitting, although then let go of his hand and moved over to her own bed to lay down, on her side so that she still could watch him.
