Alatáriël frowned hearing that they needed more warriors...a lot more. She could already see looks of hopelessness among a select few of her warriors. She shook her head. "I cannot possibly send word back to Imladris for more," she said. "Our numbers are few and the ones that remained behind must guard the realm. We will have to make do with what we have." Alatáriël looked at Ellroher's hand holding hers. She stood still for only a mere moment then pulled her hand from his. "Make no promises nor say such words, for this is war...it cannot be predicted." She turned looking at Círdan hearing he will send word to Arnor for aid. She was positive that Arnor would help...or hoped more or less. "Let us just pray that there are no more traitors among us."

Ellroher considered Alatariel's words and noded somemly. "You are right. War cannot be predicted." Ellroher studied Alatariel a moment then gave a small smile. "I love that hard determed look in your eyes. We'll make our stand together." Ellroher then set to helping the elves overturn carts and pile wood and barrales up in a sort of blockate. He then lined the elves up into three rows. The first weiled the two handed swords favored by the elves. The second held long spears and sheilds which could cover both themselves and the elves in frount of them from arrows. The spears could also attack between the swordsmen. Lasly, the archers, which, though not very affective, would rain down arrows onto the attacking dwarves. Ellroher stood in the second line, holding a elven spear and giving orders as the dwarves marched ever closer towards the elf lines. Ellroher only wished that it was not dwarf blood he would have to spill today.

The massive Dwarven army closed in coming closer and closer to the barricade and elven wall that had quickly formed up. The Dwarves cared not and charged straight towards the wall of dwarves, spears and arrows flying threw the air to take out any elf not covered. Then smack...into the elven wall. Dwarves sacrificing their bodies as to create a hole for other dwarves to get through. Huge axes smashed against the dwarven swords and spears, as broad shields clashed against the swords and spears as well. However, the elven wall did not break...yet.
As the Dwarven army crashed against the Elven wall the 1,800 dwarves that had formed up found themselves now behind the elven line and broke forth into a charge, coming up behind the elves extremely quickly, picking of the elves that were in the third and second line with arrows and throwing axes striking them in the back as the 1,800 dwarves drove like a spear right at the center of the elven line as to divide it so the main army on the other side could get through and sweep around both sides and slaughter them all.

As the Dwarven lines smashed against the Elven lines, Ellroher commanded the elves to stand firm. A dwarf jumped onto of the barrics in frount of him and raised his ax to deal a blow to the swordsmen in frount of him. Ellroher reluctently drove his spear into the dwarf to save his kin. He watched as the dwarf fell to the ground, his eyes were hollow with the blank stair of death. Ellroher had to turn away for fear of losing his composer. Then suddenly, the dwarves were though their lines and attacking from behind. Ellroher saw his companions being hacked from all sides and cursed himself for allowing his emotions to interfear with the battle. Fearing the elves hight break in confusion, Ellroher cryed out, "Elves! Regroup! We can not let them devide us! Regroup!" A dwarf charged the elf and swung at his legs. Ellroher jump over the attacker and brought the blunt end of his spear down on the dwarf's head, knocking him out cold. He fought his way to the circle where the elves were making their stand. Their numbers were notisably less than before, but they had taken plenty of dwarves with them. Ellroher thrust his spear into another dwarf and prayed that a miricle would happen.

Samwise stood upon one of the wonderful hilltops of the Shire while his hobbits were massacred, one third of his army already has been slain. Hobbits were no fighters, warriors, neither one of the best archers. They were not used to battle, but to their beloved peaceful life in the Shire. He appreciated the help of the elves who now stood side by side with the hobbits, helping them to try and get the Shire back. Samwise was no war-lord, he has fought side by side against orcs in Moria a long time ago, he never was trained in finding brilliant strategies. At the moment, he was out of ideas, he ordered the hobbits who stood further back and did not fight in this moment to continue to shoot arrows, burning arrows, towards the dwarven army. He hoped that the Shire would get more help from Arnor, although he knew, the Reunited Kingdom was in war at the moment as well.

Cirdan cursed under his breath as the dwarven assault all but destroyed the elven battle line. It seemed hopeless, the dwarves were not known as the hardiest of all the races for nothing. Still no help came from Arnor and they were in desperate need. He prayed to Ulmo, who had always watched over him since the elder days, for a miracle. That was exactly what they needed.

The Dwarves saw the elven line collapse and be forced into a circle. Hundreds of the dwarven brethen had fallen already. The commander of the Dwarven army saw the hobbits on the hilltop and disbatched 2,000 dwarves to charge them. The dwarves rose their great shields and rushed the hill. The small poorly aimed arrows of the Hobbits did not stand much of a chance against the heavily armed and shielded dwarves as they pressed up the hill.
As the Dwarves pressed against the elves 1,500 were disbatched to run around the lines to aid those that were behind the enemy line. The elves could not hold the massive hoard of dwarves for long. The Guisarnie soldiers strode forth. These dwarves had huge pikes, almost twice that of an elven pike and ran forth at the Elves that were forming a circle and ran their pikes through any that stood in the way. As the elves attempted to form up many were cut down, for they were disorganized and distraught. The shields of the elves were not protecting many and the crossbow bolts of the dwarves that stood nearby found their marks upon the chests of the elves. The battlefield was pure chaos dwarves were swarming everywhere. As the arrows flew a small hole was formed in the poorly but newly formed elven circle and hundreds of dwarves rushed to press through it or at the least hold it open.

Ellroher slashed two more dwarfs to peices and looked around at the battle scene. It was utter caous. The dwarfs crashed against the elven lines like the ocean againt the sand. Ellroher realized that they could not win this fight. If they retreated now, they might be able to save some of the hobbits, but to continue fighting would only bring death to both hobbits and the elven force. "Elves! Hobbits! Fall back!" Ellroher cryed hoping to be heard over the roar of the battle. "Save what hobbits you can and retreat! Cover their retreat my kin! Let the dwarfs kill no more hobbits! Fall back!" The elves guickly formed a line and slowly began to fall back, trying to hold the dwarfs back wile the hobbits fled. Hadi, Ellroher's friend from Rivendell ordered the elves' supply wagons to be dumped and now charged forward. They stoped in frount of the retreating hobbits and guickly through them into the wagons. They cramed and stacked as many hobbits as they could into the carts and began to withdraw. Meanwile, Ellroher and the other elfs were slowly being witled down. Ellroher's spear had been hacked in two and he now wiled his twin blades, Malnar and Celebkhelek. As he slew the oncharging dwaves, Ellroher, begged forgiveness the of the dwarf smith who made these blades for him.

The Dwarves saw and heard the order for retreat. The Dwarves were inspired by this and then continued to press forward killing as many of the retreating elves as possible. As the dwarves noticed the wagons filling up with hobbits. The dwarf archers began to light their arrows on fire and shoot them towards the wagons. One wagon was struck and caught fire. Any arrow that hit near the landing in the dry straw of the Shire and instantly began to burn. The Dwarves continued their onslaught and did not stop. As the hobbits pilled onto the wagons the 1,500 dwarves that had run around came up behind the wagons as the elves were loading the hobbits and began to slaughter the elves that were not expecting the sudden attack. A few lept into the wagons and began to slaughter the innocent hobbits onboard the wagons.

Alatáriël had nothing to add to Ellroher’s words. She honestly never really had any respect for Dwarves. With a hard look on her face, she turned and faced the army of the enemy. She drew her sword and along with her Elven army, she stood firm as Ellroher had ordered the Elves to do. At the right moment, she raised her sword and had easily slain the nearest Dwarves and watched as they fell to the ground. With quick speed, she moved from left to right trying to slay as many as possible. Although is was difficult, she kept an eye on Ellroher, knowing at times he made reckless moves. Sensing his emotions interfering with the battle, she cursed under her breath. A warrior must never show emotion while in battle. With wide eyes, Alatáriël quickly turned her head as Ellroher called for a retreat. She could have sworn she thought it was too soon to retreat. As the Elves began to fall back, Alatáriël could see that the Dwarves were taking advantage of the that. They began to slaughter the Elves and the Hobbits and setting fire upon the wagons. Damn them. "This is madness!!" she cried out loudly. Worry began to set in. There were just too many Dwarves and not enough Elves to make even half of the Dwarven army. "There is too many of them. Where on earth is the aid from Arnor?!"

Ellroher saw the dwarves set some of the wagons ablaze and wile others were jumping into the wagons and slaughtering helpless hobbits. Suddenly, Ellroher cared not how many dwarves he slew. These dwarves were no better than orcs. He looked at his blood stained swords and said, "Come Malnar, let them feel the burn of your blade. Come Celebkhelek, freeze them with your bite." Ellroher began to spin and dance through the battle feild, killing all that opposed him. A few dwarves were able to land blows on him, but his armor was strong and he ignored the pain. A blood lust was apond him and his only wish was to kill. He slew the dwarves in the wagons and with the help of the remaining elves cleared a path. Only a dozen wagons were left and they raced away with all spead. Out of a thousand elves that had came, less than 400 were left. Not wanting any more of his own kin slain, Ellroher lifted his horn to his lips and blew a reatreat. The elves, who were much faster than the dwarves, began a fighting retreat. Suddenly, over the hill which the wagons had disapeared, came 50 horsemen, each leading two or three horses behind. They rode up to the elven reatreating lines and gave the horses to them. Elves doubled up on each horse and quickly ran to safety. But there were not enough horses. Still about 200 more elves were forced to run on foot, fighiting to keep the dwarves at bay.

As the Dwarves saw the retreating Elves and Hobbits and knew their victory was complete. The great Dwarf leader halted his arm with the sound of two sharp horn calls. The massive dwarven army halted their advance. Victory is ours! Yelled the chieftain and a great cry rang up from the dwarves. " Find all that remain and capture them and bring them to me! Burn everything, fields, homes, grass, barns, everything!" He yelled and so it was. The dwarves ran about the Shire lighting it completely on fire. From the Hill at Bag End, to Crickhollow all the way to Buckland the flames of the buildings and hay fields could be seen. Hundreds of hobbits had been rounded up and chained in a circle in the center of the Dwarven army.

The battle was over. The dwarfs had victory. As the combined armies of Lindon and Imardis fled Cirdan felt as if the world was ending. Aster they were a safe distance from the battle and back on the way to Lindon, Cirdan knew that his kingdom was in danger. The dwarfs may follow yup the attack to his nearly unprotected homeland. When he got back to mithlond he would make preparations for an emergency retreat to Tol Fuin so that he would be ready if Lindon fell. Also he would be having serious words with the King of Arnor.

Samwise felt horrified, the Shire was lost to the Dwarves. He ordered all surviving hobbits, which were 500 warriors and the families who could get out of the massacre, to retreat, out of their homeland and the green wavey hills of the Shire. His plan now was to get to Arnor, it was the nearest place to retreat to. All the elves were retreating as well, back to their realms. Now, as quick as possible, the hobbits took along what was left and what they could carry of their belongings and fled, to the northern border. Samwise himself was on a horse, and at the border of the Shire he turned to look back. He felt miserable, seeing his beloved country burning to the ground. But at the moment he had not the strength or ability to drive the dwarves out. He hoped that in Annuminas people would help him and all hobbits.

The Dwarves rounded up the remaining Hobbits and took them away, back to the mountains to work as slaves. The Dwarven army then began to build up walls and defences as best they could. They figured that in a few months there would be a reclaiming attempt, but for now, they were consumed by the joys of victory and looked to the west for their next target. More dwarves were on there way from the Iron Hills and would reach the Shire through Angmar and Forodwaith in a month or so. That was when their attack would take place.
