Detailed History: Vanargand was born in Angband before The War Of Wrath and was one of those, who managed to escape the hosts of Valinor with their lives in the aftermath. `Horrified` by the events and the loss of his lord, he led a small pack of orcs to a mountainous region to hide away.
Ever since then after settling down to hide within that a labyrinth of caves with the orcs as his remaining servants, Vanargand grew weary and dull. However the constant fear of a repetition of what had come to pass had driven a deep rooted horror and paranoia within him thus making him linger within the cave network, relying for the orcs to hunt for food. However one night the `peaceful` hiding was interrupted as his servants, without Vanargand`s knowledge of it, ventured forth and found a human village. The orcs slaughtered the village and looted whatever they could find, growing more arrogant within the process and heading back to their caves.
However it would not be long until Vanargand had learned of the events and upon their return orcs, who disputed his right to rule and revealed their future intentions of raids upon humans, made their last mistake. Vanargand, flew into a frenzy, set by his paranoia and the very fact, that he was questioned by lowly orcish scum. Thus he promptly slaughtered every orc under in employ, forgetting reason and fear. Afterwards, realizing, that there were none left to deliver him a meal he cast away the fear, that had chained him within the caves for decades.
Sensing, the winds of chaos picking up again, Vanargand headed into the world and slaughtered every being, that he came across simply to prove, that he was no less dangerous than he had been before in Morgoth service. Soon he found himself within the employ of Sauron, all tough as a reluctant servant at that because he still knew that Sauron was not invincible. Thus wary of defeat, he was eager to abandon Sauron as soon as he fell during the second age and ventured north from Mordor, where he spread fear along with a packs of warqs, who he had gathered as his pack.
During the third age Vanargand participated in minor skirmishes of various forces in Middle earth, satisfying his own blood lust enough, but never once taking sides, not to even serve Sauron even when things seemed to be at their darkest for the world of men. Now with the defeat of Sauron and the rise of the reunited kingdom, Vanargand has decided to take residence in lands beyond the reach of men.
With a pack under his control he headed north, culling every living being on in his way, only allowing orcs and wolves willing to serve to join his pack. Eventually he made his way to Gundabad, where turmoil had taken a foot within the orcs of the mountain as the forces of darkness had been long pushed back. Using the ensuing paranoia, fear and hatred among various strong orcs within Gundabad Vanargand caused infighting and took advantage of the situation. He began by pitting two, strong orcs and their followers against each others, as it seemed that to orcs `might makes right` was a ruling concept. As the orcs began a struggle against each others Vanargand joined the fray, clawing the other to death trough a frenzy of blows and finally snapping the neck of the other with his fangs.
In the aftermath various orcs were left in confusion and in fear of the large beast, not to speak of his pack, thus there was no question who was strongest. Not soon after Vanargand and his newly found orcish allies seized control of the mountain, raising Vanargand as the undisputed lord of the mountain.
