In the Mines of Moria, the great leader Frar II had the ability to shift his form from a human, to a dwarf, and back and forth at his will. However, over the years he found that he would need to be able to do more than that if he was to convince the other races of being in middle earth to do his bidding. His mind became bent upon being able to change his form to that of other creatures. He had once been able to, for but mere minutes whenever he had first received the power from a elven sorceress. However, after he betrayed and killed her she was able to curse him before her last breath and forced him to only be only to take the form of the creatures the elves disliked the most...the dwarves. Frar was distraught and his mind was forever in thought, searching for a way to reverse what had been done to him and make himself a true shape shifter. Finally, word reached his ears that sorceress had re-entered the world and that there was a powerful being somewhere in the wilderness. Frar, at hearing this sent small bands of dwarves far and wide so to search and bring this woman to him. That is what brought this band of dwarves into the wild land. There was nine of them, as was the custom of travel. They had been on their journey for over a month and following a lead of men that had told them of a sorceress that was seen wandering, alone, through the trees of the wild land. These dwarves did not believe they would find this woman but were eager to do their lords bidding as they grudged through their errand with tired legs and hungry bellies.

*Kassandra had been walking when she heard a troop near her. She didn't hid but eavesdropped and tried to hear what she could* 'better find 'er soon...sure am gettin tired of all this mess' 'yeah but just think how happy ole' frar'll be after we find her' *Kassandra raised her brow...the people's voices were low and gruff, and she knew at once what they were. She stepped out from where she was into the open where the sun would reflect on her magnificant white dress. She was ordained with numerous diamonds and those shone even brighter. She saw them coming in the distance and stopped walking, knowing that they had noticed her. She didn't show emotion, only acted like she knew they were coming*

The dwarves had been talking amongst themselves for some time before one of the fore runners spotted what appeared to be a woman a good distance ahead of them. The dwarves spread out and three approached the woman at a very slow pace. They had been told to bring her back, but they were unsure on how they were going to do that if she was a sorceress. " Who are you! " Cried one of the dwarves, loud enough for the woman or man to hear. They held their axes close to their bodies as the other six dwarves moved, three on each side of the person, moving through the underbrush as to keep from being scene as the first three continued to approach.

* she looked around innocently* me? I'm just a woman walking through these gorgeous woods. *she smiled and laughed gently* and who are you all? so short of stature, you cannot be men..you must be dwarves *she said taunting them a bit. She nodded toward their axes that she could tell they clinged to for dear life* no need for those now..is there?

At hearing themselves be called short and little they were rather angered. However, they tried to control their tempers, even though, most dwarves were very very hot tempered either way. " Yes, so thus you know who we are...but i shall ask again...who are you? " Cried the dwarf as he approached and now stood about 100 feet from the woman, looking up at her tall stature as the other dwarves that had gone around her were ready in their positions with axes in hand a bow from each side poised at the woman in case she tried something. The lead dwarf twirled his axe in his hand and spoke to it softly as he waited her response.

*she smiled* if you really want to know I'll tell you..*she said slowly as she turned her head towards where the other dwarves were hiding..it took some concentration to find them because they were well hidden, but she had eventually found them* But make your men show themselves...no need to be shy *she said with a devilish grin*

The dwarf in charge figured that she had seen the other dwarves run off and knew of their location. He gestured with his head towards both parties of three and they rose from their positions and approached the woman. All three groups of three formed a triangle around her as they waited for her explanation. " Alright miss. You seem to have a good enough head about you to know where my soldiers are....now explain yourself and your presence here in these lands. Know that, if we so desired and were not looking for a certain woman we would have already slain you for your insolence. " The dwarf said gruffly as he was becoming annoyed with this woman..

*she smiled at the dwarves..how easily they were tempered* My name is Kassandra..I'm a maia, and a sorceress *she said no longer desiring to play games..she could defend herself if her identity was discovered by someone she didn't want to know her* and for whom are you looking? I assure you I don't know many people around these parts *she decided to keep it simple, and instead of telling him she hadn't been here in thousands of years, she decided just saying she was unfamiliar would be better understood*

The dwarves listened to her speak and at once they knew that she was the woman that they sought. The dwarf who had been doing all the talking looked at her with his arms folded with his axe head resting on the ground and the blunt end was what he was leaning on with his crossed arms. " Well, miss..We, have been looking for you as it were. " He said as the dwarves around her lowered their weapons as the dwarf spoke. " We have been summoned by Lord Frar II of Moria to find you and request that you return with us to Moria, for he desires your help. " He said calmly. The dwarf did not know why Frar wanted the witch, but he was just obeying orders.

*she looked a bit puzzled as the dwarf had given her no reason for going* Travel to moria? to help some dwarf i've never met? *she laughed in front of them but didn't want to anger them further, so abruptly stopped. She had fooled with them enough* Well I don't know why he would want me..but..*she thought about it for a minute, then asked* "and what would I have to gain from this little visit?

The dwarves were becoming rather edgy as she had now mocked them because of their height, laughed at their proposal, and who knows what other thoughts she had had. The dwarf clenched his fist together but attempted to show that he was not angered at all. " Well madam, he has promised you jewels, and gold, and whatever else that he is capable of offering you. " He said as the dwarf was pretty much saying exactly what Frar had told him to say. The dwarves knew that if they met the witch and did not bring her back their would be terrible consequences for them to face, so he was trying his best to be as friendly as possible.

*she glanced around to memorize her location so she could get back if need be. She didn't like the idea of moria, but was interested in the situation.."if he wants me there enough to offer me jewels..the things most precious to the dwarfs, he must be serious" she thought to herself. She also knew it wouldn't be a bad idea to get on people's good side while she was here, so she made her mind.* "alright" *was all she said and just started strolling, waiting for the dwarves to catch up to her. She hadn't been to Moria but for one or two times, and they were short trips. She pondered the situation and was guessing to herself at what he might want with her, and could only think of three possibilities, one, he wanted something to do with her magic, two, he had heard of her and had some grudge, but if that were the case he would've likely sent more people and just attempted to kill her there, or three...he wanted to bed with her. She pushed the third one out of her head before she changed her mind about going with them, and continued walking, hoping the trip there wouldn't be too awkward with silence*

The dwarves were excited that she agreed to go with them and they were quick to jump and follow her as she could hear them huffing and puffing being her as they attempted to catch up. Eventually they took position in front of her, beside and behind, as if they were protecting. " Our Lord shall be greatly pleased that you have excepted. " Said the lead dwarf as he had finished catching his breath and was busy occupying himself with throwing his axe over his shoulder. " So sorceress. May i ask you a question? " He said as he was a rather curious dwarf and for the most part did not believe in everything that was said that she could do.

*she laughed to herself at their manner of walking and slowed down a bit for their benefit. She looked at all their bald heads and smiled again...this was definately not the most normal thing she'd ever done. She was watching the path they were taking and where it lead when the lead dwarf spoke. She looked down at him and after he finished speaking she looked back up and answered, speaking a bit too loudly to make sure they could hear her. She wasn't used to talking to such short people* "yes you may" *She was surprised he had asked for her permission. Perhaps they weren't completely primitive after all*

The dwarves had settled into a walking routine and were, by now, more than adjusted and were having no trouble with keeping up with, and catching the witch. The lead dwarf looked over at her and nodded. " Well, what exactly is it about you that makes you so valuable? I do not doubt your power to an extent, but what exactly can you do that makes my master so eager to send out hundreds of soldiers to find you? " He asked. He had hoped that his question would not be out of turn and that she would not be offended, but he figured that if he had come all this way he had a right to know.
