"An other thing that is good to know." she said whit a smile.
At the end of the deck, a boy sat sleeping against a wash bucket. A broom lay next to him. If you looked closely at the deck, you could see that one part of it was more dirty then the other. Charley pointed this out to Shalem. "That on the other hand, is not good," she said.

"Huh, even on the rafts we had to keep the deck perfect, gypsys arn't as dirty as everyone thinks, i hope i don't take the liberty." She kicked the boy, who awoke with a start. "And why do you sleep on the job boy?" She snarled.

The boy looked confussed at her, "Well thank you for telling me then," he said roudly, and he stood up. "Welcome." he grimased.
"Hey," Charley shouted. The boy saw her, "She is right. And now do what you are paied for, or ill make you wish for a second kick."
Suprised to see her he just said: "Aye captain," and started to wash the deck.
Charley walked away from him saing to Shalem: "If I diddnt already have a firsmate, you could have the job," she said whit a grin. "I need more people that does things like that."

"When i was a cabin boy (yeah i know) people just expected me to finish thier work if they didn't do it. So i worked hard, and when i got to a higher rank...i made them pay." She gave a grim smile. "I don't have to clear up after people anymore, but i still don't like to see time mouney and labour wasted, thats not the way to run any vessal." She said with a laugh

Charley also laughed. "Aye. You seem to have worked harder inlife then I have," she commented.
She had no regrets hiaring Shalem, she was a hard worker and seemed loyal.
"I have thougth while we have been walking here," she said, "About where you can sleep and other practical things. If you have not already seen it, you and I are the only women on this ship. And I wont have you sleeping in a room fild whit men," she gave a grim smile. "There is a smal room down a few decks that I think is free. Well, at least almost," she thougth out loud, "do you have any ideas on that matter?" she asked Shalem.

"What you are ordered to do ofcourse," she said whit a grin. "I need you at the mast. Could be good for you when you do that fixing the weather thing.” She said. “And get the sail up and down, to say it easy. And… can you read?” she asked.

"Of course!" She replied indignitly. "You don't become Captin of the Mayflower by being illitarate...not that it helps when the Mayflowers burnt by Rhunish soldirs....but yes i can read."

Charley learned more and more about Shalems past. And found it quite innteresting, and a little bitt frigthening.
"Good, exept form me ther is not anybody on this ship that can do that. Atleast that I know of. It is quite frusterating."
She waked to the captains room, then she and Shalem walked innside. It was a nice room whit a desk, some other funeture and other things. On the desk lay a map of Middle Earth. There was only one painting on the wall. It was of a man whit a little girl on his lap.
Chalrey sat herselfe in a stool and signed to Shalem to do the same. "You have told me bits of your past today. You seem to me strong and hardworking. But before I take you whit me on this boat, I wont to know more. What can you tell me?" she asked and inclined her head, wating.

(how is it frightening?)
"In that case i want to know about you're past." She replied evenly. "Well you obviously know of the Water Gypsy's, River Rats, Raft folk, whatever you want to call them. I was born to Clan in Eridor, my mother had been a Weather worker, but she had lost her powers when she chose my farther, he had lived with elves and gave me schooling. I grew up in the clan, and at 12 finally left the Clan as a Cabinboy on a small vessal, i did anywork needed and weatherworking when there was need. I killed a my first man at 14 you wanted to take me; and slowly; i worked though the ranks. Finally when i was 18 i got my own vessal, the Mayflowler." She smiled sadly. "She was beutiful, and fast, she was the fastest ship you could find on any of the inland seas or river, we traded, smuggled, looted, you needed something got somewhere then the Mayflower could get it there. We earned a lot, then when i was smuggeling in Rhun my first mate betrayed me to the Queen there." Her face took on an ugly snarl "She burned the Mayflower and the crew onbord. Now my Firstmates dead and i'm here." She laughed. "I couldn't start agin there, i had no mouney to buy a ship, and no one would accept me underthem, afaid of mutiny i guess. So i came here, most weatherworkers stay inland, its easier, its known terriotry, i figured there be better work as a Pirate." There wasn't much else to say. "Apart from that, i'm superstiouse, i'l lose my power if a man takes me and my parents are probebly dead. Now tell me about yr self." She finished with a laugh

(I have my reasons to belive so ..lol..) Charley took a moment to take the story inn, then she finally said: "Very well, I guess thet i faire."She was silent for a momen then said: "See that painting?! It is of me and my father. I dont know who my mother was, I dont remember, even if I spent the first years of my life whit her. My father was the captain of this ship until a cupple of years ago. He took me whit him when I was a child. I dont know why, he wonted a son. So he raised me as if I where a boy. I have been a pirate all me life." She said whit a bitter voice. "He died a couppe of years ago. Killed in a battle at sea, a hard one, that we won. But to late. The boat was my heretige. I expected some muteny but it never came, those who did not wish to work for me left when we reaced shore. And sens then I have been captain of this ship." She ended.
