Alatáriël smiled. She was glad that Ellroher had decided to keep Dunharrow until it was completed. Afterall, she herself said that she would lend a hand. She wrapped her arms around Ellroher and held him in return. True, he wasn't the easiest person to deal with. She blamed his human side for some of his behavior but, she had seen worse. "I have had to deal with a couple of difficult people in my long years," Alatáriël said. "Even though I do sometimes question your actions, it's nothing that I cannot put up with." She smiled. "This is who you are and I love you." Alatáriël returned his kiss. She was tempted to his tease ears again but she withdrew from the thought.

Ellroher pulled back and put a hand over his chest with a mock hurt and socked look on his face. "Me?" he said inocently, "Me, difficult? Surly you jest. I'm no trouble maker." He smiled and kissed her again on the lips before pulling away and asking, "Do you think that we should go back to our rooms and get some sleep? We have a lot to do tommarow and I wouldn't want to be the reason we're tired in the morning." Ellroher smiled misteveously as he kissed her one final time.

Alatáriël shook her head and said, "Nay my love, I do not jest." She grinned. "I would not say that. You have gotten yourself into some trouble." Alatáriël kissed Ellroher back. "Perhaps you will be tired, but I will not," she said and gently tapped his nose with her index finger. "Besides, it is too early to think about rest." Alatáriël looked over the side of the railing and at the ground below. For several long moments, she just gazed, then an idea crossed her mind. She looked back at Ellroher. With a playful grin she said, "Follow me." She took off back inside and headed down the main stairs that lead outside. There, she ran across the grass hoping that Ellroher would follow.

"I think that it might me my mortal side. Men generaly need sleep." He said. Ellroher raised an eyebrow at Alatariel as she ran off. "I must be rubbing off on her." He chuckeled to himself. Ellroher quickly ran back in his room and placed his pipe on the dresser. Out of pure habit, he grabed his long hunting knife and fasened it in place as he ran back outside. He took off down the stairs that Alatariel had just gone down and looked for her at the bottem. Spying her, he started walking in her direction and asked with a misteveous smile, "Ok, Alatariel. Where are we going?"

Alatáriël stood there, waiting for Ellroher to appear. He obviously made a detour before he came outside since he now wore his hunting knife. Alatáriël only grinned. Saying nothing, she took off running again, heading towards the forest where the Training Barracks were. Spotting a particular tree, she climbed up and sat on the high branch that overlooked the barracks. The very spot where she first saw Ellroher many long years ago when he was still fairly young, but never knew it.

Without receiving an answer, Ellroher stood for a moment smiling after Alatariel. "Oh, is that how it's going to be? Well, I'll play your game." He spoke towards the spot where Alatariel had stood a moment ago. Laughing, Ellroher took off down the path that his love had just took. Weaving in and out of the trees, Ellroher ran until he came to the edge of the barracks for the solders of Rivendell. From across the grounds, he spied an elf sitting on a high branch in the trees. Suddenly it hit Ellroher where exactly he was. Smiling quickly drew his hunting knife and cut a long strip of cloth from his cloak and tunic. He then braided them together and examined it. The blue cloth of his tunic stood out among the dark green of his cloak, making a rather crude, yet simple ribbon. Smiling broadly, he returned his knife to it's sheaf and walked over to the base of the tree. Looking up into the tree, Ellroher cried out, "Excuse me, my lady. But I think you dropped you hair ribbon." He held up the braided cloth and smiled shyly. The way he would have if he had done it all those years ago when he first saw Alatariel watching him training over it the barracks.

Alatáriël grinned to herself and looked down at the ground below. She saw Ellroher standing at the base of the tree. It appeared he was acting out what he would have done if their meeting had taken place here. Alatáriël decided to play along. She climbed down the tree and landed in front of the half-elf. She took the strip of cloth from his hand and examined it. Alatáriël smiled. "Indeed this is mine," she said. "Thank you for returning it to me, young warrior."

Ellroher smiled and bowed to her. "Your welcome." He looked up in the tree where Alatariel had been sitting and asked, "What were you doing way up there? You don't look like a squirl." He smiled then cringed as he remembered what his mother had taught him about manners. "I mean your a lot prettier than a squirl." he said hurryedly. Altought he was just acting, Ellroher's face began to turn red with embarrisment, as would have a young warrior who was talking to a pretty elf girl. The young warrior was still trying to recover from his mistake. "I mean not that you look like a squirl or anything." He stoped talking, looking about as embarrist as he could be. Taking a deep breath, he met her eyes and said, "You look more like one of the beautiful nightengales that sing by my window every night. They are the most beautiful creactures in Rivendell." He paused and looked at the ground, praying that he hadn't insulted the pretty lady.
(Sorry it's been so long. Weather and school have been really bad lately.)

Alatáriël stifled a laugh. She watched as he made several attempts to correct his words but had failed. When finally getting his words right, Alatáriël could not help but smile brightly and place a hand over her heart, taking in his sweet words. She lifted the young warrior's chin and looked into his eyes. "Nay young one, you have not insulted me," Alatáriël said. "I sit in the trees because it is one of my favorite places to be and I enjoy watching the activities that happen on the ground below from them, it is a much better view."
(It's okay. Weather hasn't been pleasent here either, a lot of sickness going around too and unfortunately, I'm one of the sick. *insert sarcastic yay here*)

Ellroher's face brightend. "You mean you watch the solders train? I've seen you up there before, watching our contests." He looked at the ground and then added, "I fought my hardest today when I saw you watching. I imagined that you were a damsal in distress and I was fighting to save you." He smiled with pride, "And today I won. I defeted all my chalengers and won." Ellroher stood streighter and bowed, "My name is Ellroher, son of Eothain. May I ask your name, my lady?"
(School is driving me crazy! I acualy should be on now because I've got so much to do but I hate it when people just leave a thread hanging. I'll try to post again this week if I can find time. Sorry for not posting. Maybe after next week things should be back to normal.)

Alatáriël nodded. "I do sometimes," she said. Alatáriël held back another laugh. Too bad for him that she could never be a damsel in distress but she left the young warrior to his imagination. "I know you did," she said. "I was watching you. You fought well, young warrior." Alatáriël's face nearly flushed when he bowed to her. "There is no need to bow before me, young one. I am no one of importance." She raised an eyebrow lightly. His name was very similar to Elrohir, Son of Elrond but his father's name sounded Rohirric. He appeared to be of Elven kind but now she assumed he had to be Half Elven. "A pleasure to meet you, Ellroher. I am called Alatáriël."
(It's okay, don't worry about it. I'm now always assuming that when you're unable to post is when school has become quite busy for you. Just post whenever you find the time, I'm not mad or anything.)

Ellroher smiled as he repeated the name, "Alatariel, that is a lovely name." He bowed slightly again and said, "I can't help it. You are so beautiful that you must be of a nobal household." Ellroher looked around sheepishly and then stamared, "My lady, can I ask a favor?" He was rubbing his hands nervisly and he just couldn't seem to keep still. He took a deep breath and said, slowly, "May....may I continue to fight for you?"

"One's beauty does not always define rank or class," Alatáriël said. "It can be misleading. I am not part of any noble status, I only serve Lord Elrond." Alatáriël couldn't help but smile the young warrior's shyness as he requested a favor from her. She raised an eyebrow at his question but still kept a smile on her face. "Fight for me?" Alatáriël repeated. It wasn't unusual for a male to fight for a certain maiden, but there were different reasons. She was curious on what reason a young half-elf who didn't appear much older than coming of age in her eyes would want to fight for an elf-maiden that was 2000 years pass. "And what reason do you wish to fight for me, Ellroher?" Alatáriël asked softly.

Ellroher looked at the ground and then said, "My father has taught me never to fight unless I am fighting for something, or someone. I must only fight in self-defence, or for my country or family. Because of this, I have a hard time giving my all in training because I'm not fighting for something." He looked up and continued, "Today, after I saw you watching, the elf I was traing with said something I didn't like about you. So, because I was fighting for your honor, I beat him with ease." Ellroher looked at the ground again and took a deep breath. "I think that if I am fighting for you that I'll do much much better. So, Lady Alatariel, may I fight for you?"

Alatáriël listened to Ellroher's words. It was easy to see that he had little inspiration. But she thought he also lacked confidence. For a moment, she wondered what the other young elf said but the thought left her. She wasn't surprised. It was not uncommon for young warriors in training to say something to set the other off. "I am honored to hear that I am your inspiration," Alatáriël said. "If you believe that it work for you, then yes, you may fight for me, but you also must have faith in yourself."
