Faòlan's tireless Elven feet treaded upon the golden floor of Lothlorien with eager relief. It had been long since he had stepped upon any ground without the exerting, anxious watchfulness of a traveler - but within the boundaries of Lothlorien, such cares seemed distant and foolish. This land was once the place he called home, after all, and its blessing and favor in his heart had never fully departed, no matter how far he may have roamed. But having returned to it now at last, Faòlan halted upon the banks of the Silverlode, suddenly overcome by a stirring wistfulness somewhere behind his ribs. He sighed, his firey eyes casting their incendiary glance as far as it would reach. "Yallumë," he uttered softly, and then knelt by the river to rest.

Eruraina gracefully walked through the forest of her beloved home of Lothlórien. She gazed up at the tall golden Mallorn Tress and forced a small smile. Oh, how she would miss this site if she ever were to sail. Born and raised here, it was the only place she had ever known as home. But no matter how often she walked the floor of the Elven Realm, she could not find peace and happiness within her heart. Lost in her thoughts, she came upon the Silverlode. She enjoyed the sound of the running water. She approached the river and sat down near the edge and stared into the water.

A leaf fell into the water where Eruraina was gazing, and ripples quickly scurried away from it in every direction. But when they had disappeared and the water's surface was clear again, there was suddenly more than one reflection peering back at the pensive Elf maiden. "Suilad," said a smooth, deep voice from behind her. It was Faòlan, who had been resting just a little ways down the bank when Eruraina appeared. At first, he had wondered whether or not she had even seen him when she, too, settled near the Silverlode, but he now guessed that she had been - and, indeed, still was - so lost in thought that she hadn't even noticed him there. And so he had gotten up to approach her and now stood just behind where she was sitting, looking into the image of Eruraina's face as the water mirrored it with searching eyes and a gentle smile.

Eruraina was not aware that she had company at the river. Hearing a voice from nearby, she snapped out of her thought picked her head up and at the corner of her eye, she saw the male Elf. She felt ridiculous not realizing someone else was near. She said nothing until he stood up and walked over towards where she was sitting and stood behind her. She looked down at his reflection in the water for a moment then she turned her head and looked up at him. She saw his gentle smile and she smiled lightly in return. "Forgive me, my lord," she spoke softly. "For I did not notice I had company here."

((Ha... sorry, I guess that was a little unclear. He was actually supposed to already be standing behind her when he spoke... like right after she saw his reflection behind her in the water. Anywho... it doesn't really matter. I was just clarifying, lol.))
"Ú-moe edaved," he replied, shaking his head. (It is not necessary to forgive.) "I, if anyone, understand the mesmerizing power of the Silverlode." At this he paused, smirking just slightly with an ironic gleam in his eye. And then, as if as an afterthought, he added, "Though you seem to be no stranger to it, yourself." Then stooping down, he took a seat beside her and continued. "I suppose I'm the one who should be apologizing, really. I snuck up on you, after all." Faòlan faced Eruraina and fell silent as he began to examine the stranger with whom he now spoke. She had a lofty appearance and was very fair... but in her eyes there was a cool strength and a distant ache that seemed to fortify the very make-up of her soul. Even Faòlan's deeply warm and enchanting gaze was not granted entrance past her seemingly pleasant countenance, and at this, he was vaguely stirred. But even in spite of his modest enthrallment, he turned his eyes back to the water so as not to inspect for too long and thus seem impolite. And so surveying the steady current, he merely indulged himself in the silence once again and awaited Eruraina's reply.
((Oooook, off to church now! Be back laterrr.))

(Oh sorry, I guess I misread or something)
Eruraina smiled and replied, "No, I suppose I am no stranger to it, for I have looked upon this river many times throughout my life." She shook her head lightly. "There is no need to apologize my lord, it is I that should have not been sidetracked." Due to her previous line of work, she should have known to be more on her guard. She looked at the male elf and noticed his deep gaze. It almost seemed as if he was trying to see through to her, but his gaze seemed warm and kind and she felt no need to be concerned. She turned her attention back to the water. She was silent for a short while then she looked back at Faòlan and asked, "What land are you from, my lord?"

Faòlan's expression glinted with a fond sort of reminiscence as his eyes traced over the rows of Mallorn trees before them. "This one, actually," he answered at last, having sifted his reply through much memory and thought before he spoke. "My father was Amdír, the first king of Lothlorien... until he led a force of elves from Lórien to the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age and fell at the Battle of Dagorlad. It was then that my brother Amroth - who I'm sure you're familiar with - took the throne." Faòlan sighed ever so curtly. "He was preoccupied for years with his pursuit of Nimrodel, and the land was left unfortified and poorly defended until Galadriel and Celeborn arrived at the middle of the Third Age." He watched a golden leaf float down stream, quickly becoming entranced in thought as Eruraina had been when he first found her. "By that time, however, I had abandoned the cause of protecting and defending the realm which I so dearly loved. The forest had become a source of strange rumor - its borders were shunned by other races, and even the Wood-Elves of Greenwood were split away from the Galadhrim. I was young then, and with both my brother and father slain, I had no reason to stay." As the Mallorn leaf drifted out of sight at last, Faòlan came abruptly and apologetically out of his daze, looking sharply at Eruraina and smiling with a hint of embarassment. "Goheno nin, híril nín. (Forgive me, my lady.) I did not mean to be so audacious as to offer my entire life's history before even offering my name." He bowed his head, and then added wryly, "Luckily, I know you understand the strange effects this river has on one's social skills." Then lifting just his eyes to her, his amused smile resumed its position upon his lips and he huffed a short laugh of ironical but sincere understanding.

Eruraina's eyes forced on Faòlan as he told of his family history. Although, she was very familiar with the past rulers of Lórien and it's history and the story of Amroth and Nimrodel, she did not mind listening. She actually enjoyed listening to such stories. It was a favorite subject of hers during her schooling days and it actually was something she paid attention to. She frowned lightly hearing that it was his own family members that had been slain. It made her think back to when he own family was slain but she had to stay. She noticed his eyes following the golden leaf on the water, seeing he had become entranced by the river once again. She saw the look of embarrassment on his face and she just shook her head and said, "It is alright, my lord. I did not mind listening." She too, now turned and faced the river again. No, she was not very familiar with the river's effects on one's social skills for she was not a very social Elf. Work took up most of her time so she didn't have room for a social life.

"You are very kind," Faòlan said, and again, he caught a glimpse of the remote grief which lurked behind Eruraina's gaze. Suddenly he understood that her family, too, had been slain, but he dared not address the issue so plainly. He merely caught her elusive gray eyes with a fleeting look of tender, rueful understanding before his stare left hers once again to dwell upon the somber trees ahead. But mingled with that dim woe, there was still such potent valor within Eruraina that continued to intrigue Faòlan. Her eyes almost seemed misplaced... as if the hidden knowledge that secured them could not possibly belong to such a seemingly delicate and lovely creature. There was a mystifying but undeniably defined contrast there that fascinated something deep within him... and yet he did not even know her name. "And where, may I ask, do you come from?" he finally resolved to inquire, focusing with some effort on the beauty of the kingdom which lay all around them.

"No, not really," Eruraina said trying not to laugh. She was not known to be the gentlest elf maiden. She could sense that Faòlan had learned something of her. Then again, it was not uncommon for an elf to be able to learn something about someone by reading one's movements or facial expressions. She noticed his long gazes at her, like he was trying to study her and learn what he could without asking questions. He had not spoken much, only to speak of his family history. He seemed one of few words, such as she was. Maybe he did not want to suddenly intrude on her. She gazed into his eyes. They were warm and kind but seemed to have a hint of curiosity in them. "I too, am from this realm," she answered.

(I won't make these posts orange... this thread just seems so tranquil that I don't want to blast it away with the orange font that I use. So shhhh don't tell anyone. And also I am in need of an active RP.... badly. So if you too would kindly agree to let join in with you I would appriciate it and make this a top priority. It's nice to finally RP with people who are good at this kind of thing. There are those who... aren't so great.)

OCC: I think this thread pretty dead since Faòlan hasn't been here for many months. If you want, you can start a whole new thread and I'll RP with you. I haven't been able to RP with this character for a little while anyway.

(Yeah I'll probably do that then but I'm bad at making RP's... Let's just say that I can't really come up with the wow factor for a storyline.)

(I'm not much better at coming with them either. Most of the time I need to be inspired in a way but I don't have that inspiration right now. Maybe we can could up with one but let's just take it to PM and not here. I may just get rid of this thread.)
